Will Prince William become King or will Charles put the kibosh on it!
Re: Royal Family news
The family name was changed during the First World War because of the embarrassment of having a German name while at war with the Germans; family disagreements can be horrendous!
What happened to the previous Greek royal family - wasn't there anyone to succeed in the usual way?

Re: Royal Family news
Anyone watch? I somehow missed it.. Been looking at some news videos, and thought what a lovely couple. Good job she had no veil, in this gale force wind. Have to say, is this the first time a royal has not worn a veil?
Anyway, here is a lovely pic of them all..

Apparently she chose her dress and presumably no veil so she showed the scar from her back surgery when she was 12 ,to offer support to other sufferers of the problem whose name I forgot (Scoliosis or Kyphosis )

Thanks, yes of course, you are right, and good on her for not trying to hide it. I believe the surgeon who did the operation was a guest at the wedding.

A couple of friends of mine are taking afternoon tea with him today along with a number of other 70 year old inspirational people. I look forward to seeing the photographs and hearing their recollections of the event.

Re: Royal Family news
So should Prince Philip still be driving. I thin perhaps not at 97. He's been involved in an accident and his Range Rover overturned pulling out onto a main road.

Re: Royal Family news
I've just had one of those dodgy companies ringing to tell me I've had a car accident. I wish I'd thought to say that they should ring Prince Philip.
I've never driven a car in my life.

Re: Royal Family news
So he said two weeks instead of two days? What would be the point of lying about something as basic as the date of your baby's birth? A slip of the tongue that's all - I wonder if Meghan corrected him and that was edited out.

Things getting worse for Andy. The Queen has cancelled the big party planned for his 60th birthday early next year.
And there are now lots of charities lacking a patron as he has had to step aside....I can think of a lady doctor with time on her hands who has experience of being an Ambassador for a charity...maybe she should send in her CV to these bereft charities?

Hmmm - she has a somewhat dodgy reputation too! Not that it has prevented her from being feted in many places as the U K's answer to Mother Teresa so who knows?

I don't think either of the 'gruesome twosome' are being feted that much these days and we don't hear about them being 'bouyed up' either.
Prince Andrew was incredibly ill-advised to do that interview. It was cringeworthy the whole way through and just got worse and worse. At no point did he show the slightest concern or remorse for any of the victims. It was all about providing alibis and protecting his own back. Appalling.
He effectively sacked himself with that interview.
Why didn't he just make a public statement along the lines of: 'This is a police investigation and I will help police with enquiries but have no other comment to make?' (Even if not true....as in not true that he will 'help' that much).
It demonstrated how out of touch he is with what is acceptable behaviour.
ETA: Was he allowed enough rope to 'hang himself' so to speak? That's what it looks like to me. (I know there is much debate about how Epstein met his death...)
IMO.

An interesting programme on the developing story of allegations of fraud and deceit over the infamous Diana interview with Panorama in 1995.

I'm not sure about the "adorable" myself! A strange choice for a child born in February.

Normally the British royal family do not give 'silly' names to their offspring. Calling a boy 'August' qualifies as a silly name in my book, especially when as Freedom points out he was born in February.
I think there is an actress called January, and a 'celebrity' whose name I can't remember called her child Sunday.
Did Eugenie just want the name to be 'different.' It certainly is! What does the Queen think about it? The second name is Philip (his grand granddads name) - why not make that his first name and have silly names for the subsequent ones?

The intriguing story of Prince Philip's mother. I don't remember hearing anything about her before her death.

Re: Royal Family news
I knew about Alice and think what Sigmund Freud said about her was rubbish. I'm sure she had been through awful times before this illness which may have contributed.
I've gone off PP a bit since I read he has shot a rhino for no reason and tigers in India, plus thousands of other wild creatures in this country - and he was supposed to be an advocate for the WWF !
I'm in agreement with Markle on this one - she apparently made Harry sell all the guns that PP gave him.

So far, the opinions I have seen relating to the statue of Diana which was unveiled yesterday have been virtually 100% that it's awful!
