Will Prince William become King or will Charles put the kibosh on it!
Re: Royal Family news
I suspect that he has been diagnosed with a life limiting condition, given his age something else will probably finish him off first

He hasn`t been drinking enough in the heat I bet - causes urine infections. He`s too old to be old to be going to the races in the heat.

HRH Prince Phillip - Happy retirement sir!
Hope he has a long and happy retirement, he strode out today like a young man of 30, well done for all his years of service to this country.

A nice photo from a year or two ago of the Queen with her currently 5 great-grandchildren and her two youngest grandchildren.

Lovely photo on the front of the Sunday Telegraph for tomorrow morning. 70 years married, how lovely.

Reminds me of my favourite joke. When Kate got engaged to William she went to the Queen and said 'Ma'am what is the secret to a long and happy marriage in the royal family? To which the Queen replied ' Don't p!ss me off and always wear a seatbelt '

Same hair style for 70 years too
You can see where her rollers go at night.
She was better with it on the side.

Lionel on our monarchy and the Harry/Meghan business.
I don`t agree with him about James Hewitt though. The rest is excellent.

About as real as Disneyland...?
Minnie Mouse Middleton...?
Mrs Kate's postpartum stairmanship and poise I find frankly unreal :

Re: Royal Family news
I think that all the dodgy photos we see elsewhere make everything else seem odd too!
I certainly wouldn't wear high heels so soon after giving birth (not that I ever did or do now) and how is Catherine (I refuse to call her by the media's name for her) at the same time both walking down the steps carrying George II and also with William carrying him in that seat thing, I can't think quite what it's called.

Re: Royal Family news
Scary, walking down concrete steps, tottering in stiletto shoes, carrying a newborn. Can't think of anything dafter! Admittedly she looks wonderful, even Piers Morgan commented on how she managed to look like that just hours after giving birth, but wearing those shoes and looking round at the photographers whilst walking down those stairs, was indeed not clever imo.

A reminder of this bizarre video from 2016 which was supposedly put out from Kensington Palace but which seems to consist of not very good lookalikes.

No recent princes with Louis as their first name so it makes a change.

Re: Royal Family news
If you mean Albert, that wouldn't have been a surprise.
I wonder if the name is specifically in honour of the baby's great great great uncle (I think that's the right relationship) Lord Louis Mountbatten.

Yes it is I think, it was on the news..
There was always speculation about which one of the children would bear the name, there was much discussion on it when Prince William and Prince Harry were born. As it was William was given the name Louis...
Prince William's full name is 'William Arthur Philip Louis', his family name is 'Mountbatten-Windsor' and he can also use 'Wales' or 'Cambridge' as a surname. His most frequently used formal title is 'Prince William, Duke of Cambridge'.

Re: Royal Family news
To be fair Mountbatten was not the families real name and in no way Phillips....Phil is Danish,German and Russian with bitz and Louis goes back on his eccentric mothers side...this is on answers......
PHILIP isn't Greek!!!! He is Danish-German-English-Russian.His Royal House Name is
Schlessweig-Holstein-
Sonderburg-Glucksburg.
He adopted the English name of his relatives, the Mountbattens, when he became a naturalised British citizen. They originally were Battenbergs.
The family was asked to take on the Greek throne in a most unusual fashion.Queen Alexandra, then Princess of Wales had a brother named Willi. He was approached by Lords Palmerston and Russell;they asked the 18 year oled WIlliam if he'd like to be King of Greece. He thought they were joking and said he'd like nothing better. The next day it was announced that he had agreed to become King!No other royal family in Europe wanted the job,so everyone said that William could have the throne.
