Actually, feeling more optimistic than usual. At the mo.

Things looking good.

You're right Andrew, we know who the PJ thought responsible and that isn't going to change.

Regards this 'special account' pinky mentioned, that translates as 'we've got a shit load of money put by for our defence'.

Remember the fund wasn't to pay their legal fees.

All things considered today has been pretty good news, I do believe justice is coming.

To the bold. Right off the bat (17th May 2007) we've known that the fighting fund as it was called, would "probably be mainly used for legal expenditure"

That takes me back more years than I care to remember, Cristobell, when I used to deal with notifications of property sales and transfers. Sometimes they would just give one name "and others".

There was no need for anybody to mention this special account, whatever it is and whatever it is going to be used for.
so perhaps Scotland Yard were already be aware of it and maybe asked a few questions.
or there were fears they might do that some time in the future and better get the explanation in early.
it's hard to see whay they need to have a specific account to do the very reason that the original fund was supposed to do.

That reporter wanted to know how the mcs were coping! Oh no, he wanted to explain to the world exactly how you can give your money to them! I think the reporter herself was quite shocked as she said said "very briefly". Fighting Fund... What in the hell for 2 weeks later?!?

Just realised how wacky the bolded statement is.  Are we all too close and gullible that we accept statements like this.

How do they think that any effort they put it to search for Madeleine could do better than the years, manpower and effort put in by the PJ and SY with all their collective experience, contacts, equipment, resources, specialists etc.

ETA - I suppose they could justify "To continue the Private Search" by saying they believe Maddie is in Brazil and therefore have to move there - poor things.

ETA - or the Bahamas !

It does beggar belief that they think they could remove money from the Fund set up specifically to Find Maddie to a second, "special account", set up specifically for money to.. er, Find Maddie.  Surprised  And Joe Public all smile and nod.

As for believing their own search could match SY's... well, they Know, of course. But do they know if SY also Know. And whether if SY do Know, they have the empowerment to conduct the relevant 'proper' investigation that will get to the truth of what we all Kn Suspect.

Either way, if what we all Suspect is true, then we all know the Mcs know there aint no point to any search. So what's that money for?

Isn't it obvious?

The "Private Search" is the search that they have been carrying out since day one. The "Private Search" has not been shelved while Operation Grange is investigating. We had evidence yesterday that the "Private Search" is still very much active.

The "Private Search" is to find Madeleine more money.

It is the agglomeration of small quotes like that which lead the world to believe that they all knew exactly what had happened, and were all in it together.
Fighting fund . . . Mainly for legal expenses . . . to continue the search after the police have wound it down . . .

Then we had all the money from the book going into the "Fund", as it said on the cover of the book.
Then we had a million being 'donated' to the "Fund" from their own account . . long after Kate had given up work, and they were relying purely on Gerry's salary
and now we see money being siphoned away from the "Fund" to make another "Fund"

Is anyone still deceived by this ?

because he is at heart a Motor-Mouth, and speaks without considering the consequences.
Luckily this time he has dropped the entire Team McCann and all the Directors of the "Fund" right in it.

As we predicted a long time ago the ONEY will be their undoing.

If I were Kate and Gerry I would be very worried indeed. This investigation has been going on for almost 4 years and it is quite clear Operation Grange are not looking for an abductor, nor are they looking for a gang of child traffickers. More significantly, they are not looking for a live child. Every possible abduction scenario has fully exhausted, every likely suspect (and a few unlikely ones) placed under the microscope, nothing and no-one has been found that can go the distance and carry the abduction story all the way through to a court room.

Yet still, Operation Grange will not give up, despite the fact that someone is using the outrageous cost element to manipulate public opinion. If Operation Grange were to throw in the towel at this stage, no-one would blame them, they tried their best and we can all go home now. The 'public' are asking questions about those constant trips to sunnier climates and those luxurious stays in 5* hotels. If you carry on taking the pee, the public will turn on YOU. You, like Goncalo Amaral, will become the bad guys. Especially, if you lay the blame at the door of the grief stricken parents, because you couldn't be arsed to find the abductor.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave ......... On the plus side, Operation Grange have a way out, the overwhelming opinion of the public (this week) is that the investigation should be closed and that the police should be working on current cases and helping real children. In times of austerity, the cost element is a good card to play when you want to bring an end to something. Kudos to the spinmeisters. However, once the waves have settled, the 'cost' card will be used by their enemies against them, eg. 'now explain yourself'. Tis a double edged sword.

Unfortunately, when you spin the life of yourself and all of those around you, you will eventually reach a point where you will go up your own anus, elementary canal, and come out through your gobshite mouth. Tis a comical sight to behold, a bit like watching a wild west shoot out, but the Carry On Cowbody version (one of my all time fav films), complete with strutting gun slingers, drunken injuns and bad gals turned good/good girls turn bad etc. The hero of the film, a plumber with the unfortunate name of Marshall, has to use a series of underground tunnels in order to outwit the baddies.

Every company of worth, even (especially) the public service ones, must use cunning to survive. Tis not so much the age of 'survival of the fittest or even strongest' so much as 'survival of the most conniving'. If you strike and/or disobey company rules, we will sack you and replace you with a robot. Ps. We were going to do that anyway, but now we can make it your fault and turn the public against YOU! Ha ha. Pps. We will ALWAYS go for the cheaper option.

But I digress. Operation Grange (wisely imo) are keeping quiet. They may, or may not use this latest piece of spin to their own advantage (they may even have planted it), it answers the question 'what would the public think if we shelved the case?' - and at this moment, there are no strong feelings, no-one desperate to keep the investigation going, like, say, the parents for example, and no-one lobbying on their behalf (why not?). They campaigned so hard to get the investigation, why are they giving it up without so much as a whimper?

£11 Million spent - time to end? - Page 7 Empty AL CAPONE

Post  PeterMac Fri 04 Sep 2015, 3:46 pm

Just to go back over the money again.

The "Fund" received several millions from the general public to pay for the "Search for Madeleine"
It was used to pay extremely dodgy people who claimed to be Private Detectives
All the proceeds of the book were to be paid into the "Fund", as it said on the front cover
The "Fund" started to run low
The McCanns then donated one Million of their own money to keep it going.

Now Mendacious Mitchell is saying that the McCanns have been taking money OUT of the "Fund" to continue the "Search for Madeleine"

In which case what was the "Fund" FOR ? And precisely what has it been used for ?

Any directors care to comment ?

Think Al Capone !
