It would save continuing adverse comments if you changed it.
There are times when it's horribly inappropriate.

i posted on page one this thread the uncensored video of the shooting of one of the police officers. you'll notice the absence of the signature. why? i felt it inappropriate and there's the rub. i'll decide when it's appropriate not anyone else. feel free to edit posts if you think it necessary.

Re: Terrorist attacks in France
what i do find ironic is hearing UK polititions claim this attack on journalists is an attack on democracy and freedom of speech which pretty much sums up the leveson report which some were in favour of implementing.

What hypocrite that man is. When previously he was employed to "control what was printed by the press"
His first priority is himself, and the ability to use a tragedy (religious or political) is so familiar in politics. It seems he is trying to piggy-back
common response for the use of votes. All in my own opinion.

Thank goodness he`s gone - so unashamedly out to upset people - we should have taken notice of the sinister avatar.

Re: Terrorist attacks in France
I`ve been distracted from MBM case since yesterday - this Paris episode has hit me hard.
Last night on Newsnight they interviewed Gil Mihaely who is a French historian and editor of Causeur - it really got me thinking. He was talking about the challenges of multi-cultural tensions and that if people come to a new country it implies they have to leave behind some of their customs and adopt new customs in the new country they choose. He doubted whether integration could ever work if they were not prepared to adapt. He stated that their countries of origin are sometimes just far too different, not only in their religion, but their systems of honour, their status of women, their customs etc. He has a point.
Opposing his views was Mahara Samlatoro (not sure of spelling) a Professor of African Diaspora - she said many people of different cultures were now French citizens and the French had to accept the different religions/customs etc. This annoyed me rather - anyway it`s set me thinking.

I have an incling of what you mean Mimi. It's a chicken and egg thing......do the perceived freedoms and financial opportunity seen and coveted by others stem from the mores and values of the established social group, then change when a new group attempts to impose itself upon it. We lose what was there! Not so much plus ca change as cest la vie!

Re: Terrorist attacks in France
Tomorrows papers full of fear and where are these 'terrorists' ?
Hiding in the woods, all two of them !
There will always be so called 'terror' attacks, they will remain random and few. That will be in part due to the fact that all the major Citys in the Western World are multicultural.
These particular murderers, thats all they are at the moment, seemed well equipped which has to be a concern, never the less they are the ones on the run and i dont see hoards of warriors running to help them.Cowards that are not seemingly prepared to die quite yet for whatever their principles are supposed to be.Not to be underestimated but treated with the contempt they deserve.
Sometimes we just have to trust the Government and security services to do their jobs, fallible tbough they often are.And they will use these events to remind us of the terrible threat we all face next time the oil reserves look a little low,or whatever other reason becomes them. And the tabloids will do whatever they like to sell as many papers as they can.
All us lucky ones will go about our business as usual and most will be sparing a few thoughts for those who have been killed rather than worrying about whats around the next corner.
Hopefully these murderers will be dead in a ditch come the morning with rats gnawing at their bones.

Re: Terrorist attacks in France
There were some 6 or 7 attacks on Queen Victoria's life.
They were called anarchists then. Same thing except we are paying their benefits these days.

Re: Terrorist attacks in France
I thought the latest heat seeking helicopters could easily pinpoint the heat coming from a person, even in a forest and dense undergrowth, so I`m wondering, if these shooters are in that area as the French police seem to think, the shooters have an underground hideaway. If not, I`m doubting they are actually still in that area.
