Re: "Home alone" cases and recommendations
You could nt make it up, an article in Telegraph on 25 Oct reporting Gove was ready for a comeback in a Cabinet role after praising May. Reporter? Kate McCann. Yes I realise it's a coincidence.

Hi Unreorganised I have a gut feeling this is a set up but what will be the outcome?

Re: "Home alone" cases and recommendations
This happened about 2 weeks ago, why has it just become newsworthy now.?

I guess that the press didn't find out about it at the time.
It was the same when David Cameron's daughter was briefly left in a pub.

And makes me wonder even more why the McCanns were never charged with anything. Although, if I understand it correctly, if they had faced neglect charges then a more serious charge couldn't have been brought

Shocking and appalling, DDL. And here's another one:

I don't think that we've already had this one from a year ago.

That's certainly a bizarre one.
If the husband was out at a stag do, he doesn't know whether his wife was in all night or not.

Re: "Home alone" cases and recommendations
How can anyone leave the country, and abandon their children?
What happens if there is a problem with the plane, causing a delay of a few days? Or what happens if the kids can't get into the house, for any reason, at that age they can't call a locksmith?
Surely she could have asked a friend to keep the kids for a sleepover?
I am amazed that she had the kids returned to her. She was in a different country, she had no quick way of getting back if there was a problem with the flights, she had left a 12 year old with responsibility for his younger brother, and she still gets the children back?

Re: "Home alone" cases and recommendations
Not quite home alone but I'll put this one here - wonder what would have happened if a couple we know had done this in America.

Re: "Home alone" cases and recommendations
What a strange story. Is it really customary to leave babies outside restaurants in Denmark as if they're bikes? If that is a "superior parenting style", then I'm a Dutchman, or should that be a Dane.

I like this bit: Speaking after the case, an NSPCC spokesman condemned Pavare's actions.
'No toddler should ever be left to fend for themselves and it's right that this offender has been brought to justice,' the spokesman said.
