Re: Daily Mail doorstepping contributors to the Amaral fund???
Didn't someone upthread mention that the GoFund for Amaral had access to people's personal details?
This from Get'emGonçalo:
"I was messaged on facebook last night about the Daily Mail who have obtained the names of 100's of people who donated to Amaral's Defence Fund and are in the process of doorstepping them."
http://jillhavern.forumotion.net/t12710-warning-daily-mail-are-doorstepping-100-s-of-people-who-donated-to-amaral-s-defence-fund#336784

Not really, it's people's own money, but hey, sure do hope they ask the MET.

I will be very surprised if this is true.
It sounds like a typical scare story from a McCann supporter.
In fact, I simply don't believe it.

Let's hope so. It seems far-fetched, but it's best to be forewarned I suppose.

It does, trying to frighten a lot of people off it looks like. If a newspaper had accessed details like this, then imo surely that would be illegal.

Well I look forward to this paper door stepping me and I will hand over a page of FACTS for the paper to print and I will ask them in and show them all the pages I have marked in Kate's truthful book which don't make sense.

Who was it asking questions about the fund and worried a stranger had personal details on here?

Yes, I was thinking about our friend Satsuma who has taken leave to help with investigations into the fund.......

Daily Mail doorstepping contributors to the Amaral fund???
If it's true (which I don't believe) and you get a knock on the door from a DM journalist deal with them in the following way:
1. Put down your CANCER causing cup of coffee and CANCER causing bacon sandwich (unless you're a middle-class mother in which case put down your first post school-run bottle of WINE)
2. Open the front door and FLAUNT your curves.
3. Do not, under any circumstances, tell them the VALUE of your house.
4. Set the pack of ILLEGAL immigrants you found living under your shed onto them.
3. Slam the door to SHOW THEM WHAT THEY'RE MISSING.

Thanks Freedom.
It looks now as if it's true. Jill says she knows of 5 that have been doorstepped.
And there is this person on twitter:

I don't get it either.
Let's wait and see if it is all genuine or just scare mongering.

@SpoiltVictoria1 @zodiaczephyr @LoveRandomleigh Yes. They got my name from 'The List of donors'. Then electoral register. #McCann

Where the hell did they get a 'list of donors' from? GoFundMe?

She says so, 'they got my name from the list of donors'
If this is correct and it would seem so, are they intimidating people for giving to a fund?? This is shocking!
ann-kristine @fiorifan · 2m2 minutes ago
@CaroleShooter @vivienmiss Daily Mail. Tom Kelly is writing it. #McCann I wasn't shy. I gave him my tuppence worth. #mccann

Make of this what you will from GoFundMe:
https://www.gofundme.com/questions/
Can donors give privately?
Of course. Donors can simply check a box to keep their donations hidden from public view. However, the Campaign Organizer will always know who the donor is.

I wouldn't think so TTWO. I would be more inclined to think the site has been monitored, people who gave their names (I did), and then maybe the checking of the electoral register. Lots of work I would
imagine, hence the reason no bank details will be revealed, I hope!

There can't be many people who used their real names and, unless those are unusual, it's difficult to see how they were identified that way.

I would seriously doubt that costello. Unless a donor had a unique name a put it on GoFundMe in full, I doubt that method would work.
IIRC a lot of donors just put initials or first name on the comments?

Re: Daily Mail doorstepping contributors to the Amaral fund???
I must admit I was always suspicious of go fund me and paid via PayPal to the official PJGA site itself. This will have ramifications for go- fund me if people make a noise and let others know about passing on identity to newspapers.
