Bloodhound wrote:I hope you are right Costello. I fear that because his book was published so fast it might be used against him. He possibly had the book with the publishers before the case was made public, still legally secret. I read somewhere that this appeal will only look at the legalities, I really hope he doesn't lose because of this. I can't see anything else in the whole case going against him except maybe this.
That is of course if he did do this, I can't remember the dates the case was made public and the book being published but I do remember it was close.
I'm not sure where your thoughts are here Bloodhound (you seemed to be so positive before). I'm going with my gut feeling here. Most people on the various Madeleine sites 'know' Dr. Amaral has never disclosed his true disclosure of the case. Why haven't you, very odd in my opinion.

My only worry is that he might possibly lose because he may have handed his book to publishers before he was allowed to, legally. And on that point I may be wrong because I can't remember the dates the PJ made the files public and the date Mr Amaral published his book. Other than that I can't see any reason why he doesn't win, with flying colours.
I also know Mr Amaral has not disclosed his true and full knowledge of the case. I'm looking forward to reading his next book, all going well.
Nothing odd about it at all Costello, my brain is sometimes hoping with might for one thing, and dreading something popping in to ruin it all.

Lol, As of late, do you mean today? Because I havn't posted in a while.
Honestly didn't know my ID was hidden, it must have been like that for at least a couple of weeks. But that has been fixed now, took me a minute or two to find it.
Do you think I am someone else? Or two people using my account? I'd honestly would like to know what you think and I won't be offended.
Has anyone else any doubts about me?
I can delete my account here if this is the case, with no hard feelings because I do understand how paranoia grows on the forums. I'm happy just to read the main pages if this is the case because you are the second person that has sort of questioned me or doubted me since I joined.
I'd rather be a guest reading the main page than to have members here have doubts about me.
As I said to Laura before, I'm an open book, feel free to ask me anything. I've nothing to hide.
I'm only me, no one has access to my account here except for me.

I'm not worried about Amaral per say, more worried about if they use his book publishers having access to files before they were made public, to make him lose the case. (I may be wrong and hope I am) The crap we would have to read from McCanns for years to come is unthinkable if this happened.
I know Mr Amaral is strong and will cope, especially after what he has endured the past 9 years. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I do pray and wish that he ins his case, or even that the appeal is thrown out the window, that would be the perfect outcome.

I would think though that if this was the case it would have been brought up a very long time ago, in fact I think it was, with Duarte saying something similar IIRC and nothing came of her appeal. Many write their notes, memoirs etc., at the time to remember things, and manuscripts etc., as long as nothing was published beforehand then I am thinking it would be perfectly legal. Even if the book were with the publisher, what difference does that make as long as not released? I am not getting your point at all there Bloodhound.
As to the other thing, please let's keep the questions to pm's etc. and not on a public thread. If anyone has any concerns about anyone here then please contact the mods.

Apologies, I'll try explain more.
I wasn't trying to make a point. I was only saying I had a dread that something like the publishing dat of the book may be used against him. I had a vague memory of it being mentioned away back and I don't know what came of that. But if what you are saying is correct, and it was legal for his publisher to have access then that's perfect. I don't have to worry about that now. No doubt I'll think of some other reason the McCanns might wrangle a win out of this.
I can't help it, on some things I'm a glass half empty sort of girl. I felt the same on all the court hearings, I always had that dread they would win, I was so happy for Mr Amaral on this one and I won't be happy about their appeal until it's thrown out or Mr Amaral wins.
I'm still not sure if I explained it. But I wasn't making a point about anything, maybe I was throwing that out so someone could say, no that's been dealt with, or the book publisher having access was perfectly legal, reassurance that my doubts were unfounded. But certainly I wasn't making any point.
As for the other thing? Am I not allowed to ask for more clarification if someone posts they have doubts about me? Or posts on a public forum that I sound almost like two people? Should that not be clarified here for all to see. If not then the post which questions me should surely be deleted.

I will delete the posts then that are off topic. Let's not get into that, let's just get on with the discussion.
I don't know about the book I am just surmising and guessing but I think it was mentioned somewhere way back and either dismissed or not proceeded with. Perhaps someone can find it.

Thanks Candyfloss,
I had a search on mccannfiles and couldn't find anything about it, I do remember reading something a year or two ago about it too but wasn't sure or can't fully remember what I read, but I'm glad it's not an issue or going to be, with the appeal. Phewww.

Ah well then I apologise, I thought you meant I couldn't question the questions as such
But I do agree about taking it privately to the mods. Mods are in the best position to check my or any IP address and see if other places log in on the account. It's best kept private between mods and anyone who has doubts. Saves drawn out arguments, not that I was arguing though
Anyway onwards and upwards we go.
