Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
I can't make out anything myself in the circles, apart from a blur, Seahorse.
Having said that, yes, I can now see a doll's head in the bottom circle. Not sure if it's real of just an illusion though. Probably the latter.

I thought that about the "face" in the lower circle - maybe just an illusion - and I can't make anything out in the other one.

Having looked at the first one again - I can make out a little dog. Labrador looking.
It's like one of those quizzes on the Games thread. What can you see if you look hard enough...
But yeah, I would say just illusions in my opinion.

The white-buttoned T-shirt, with a green motif, that Ben was wearing when he disappeared... Has an exact replica of said T-shirt ever been produced and shown at all does anybody know....?

It seems by the look of it ,that the small building ,may have not been lived in for years . So the water storage ,may not have existed ,only in pots or barrels .May just have been smallish water containers ,no showering no wash machine etc . just few thoughts on rethinking back to how people possably lived ? joyce1938

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
Just had a quick look round on the WWW for this particular T-shirt, but can't find anything.
So a quite distinctive T-shirt really with buttons and a green motif but nothing has ever been reproduced to show it.
I would of thought an image of it would've been vitally important to get out there. But apparently not.

According to the book there was a water connection:
"Michaelis .... said Dad could move the caravan up to the site and take advantage of the free water and electricity connections that ran to the dilapidated cottage".

Hi Joyce. They weren't living there when Ben disappeared. Just working there and renovating the farmhouse. But they would've needed water supplies on site. Hence the barrels and containers. And one of these barrels was just the right size for Ben to be able to scoop water out of and drench himself. Apparently.

"a white shirt with a hint of a green pattern" in the book.
I didn't know about the buttons.

I don't want to disrupt the current line of thinking etc, but just want to put this article here. It's from 2013. One of Kerry's partners, or someone she loved was murdered... I've never heard of that before.

I didn't know about the buttons.
Ben, who went missing in July 1991, was wearing a white buttoned T-shirt with a green motif and brown leather sanders with a buckle when he vanished.
He was not wearing any shorts as he had wet them earlier in the day and his grandmother had hung them on a tree to dry.
Detective Inspector Jon Cousins, who is leading the new search, said the pieces of fabric - one of which was six inches square - were of 'slight interest'.

ETA:
Police officers are looking for buttons of the shirt that Ben was wearing that day and the buckle from his shoe.

Hello joyce. I've been reading up a bit about Kos. There are water reservoirs and water from a mountain range, so contrary to what I imagined there probably would be mains water available.
I'm not really sure about that little old building being on mains water and electricity though, seems odd to me.
Expensive to get both installed - wonder if they accessed facilities from the big house across the road?
eta - just a thought, but maybe there is/was a bore hole for water?

I think that it is mentioned in her book but I can't recall the details.

Thanks Andrew = I did see Seahorse's post before I wrote that. Just odd to me, water (or electricity) isn't free is it, so just made me wonder.
Will say in my defence for asking stupid questions that I have several friends who live in the areas of small villages in Spain. Years ago one couple had no mains water or electric (not unusual) and their water was delivered by tanker and stored in their own little reservoir. Another couple were only connected to mains water last year - their water previously was from their own rainwater collection stored in a sort of brick built pool. Just made me compare situations.

You're right Freedom.
His name was Mick Baxendale. Stabbed to death in 1998.

It's not a stupid question Bluebell.
I can't see any electricity cables overhead in the 1991 picture of the farmhouse. It might have been an informal agreement with neighbours. Things were probably not that regulated back then.
I agree, it wouldn't have been free, unless Michaelis was paying for it and throwing it in for free.
Or it could just be inaccurate in the book.
