Much better article although disappointing they said M had been missing for over 10 years.dogs don't lie wrote:

In this instance I feel that any publicity - even if we're all described as vile trolls - is good.
I may have inadvertently deleted someone else's comment here - rather than the duplicate one which Helene requested - if so, I can only grovel and put it down to a senior moment.

Re: Dr Amaral's Defence Funds
Mr Amaral the Ex-police chief? Surely he means the disgraced, sardine munching ex-cop?
Mr Lawton seems to believe that the £1,000 donation comes from the same force as Operation Grange (and not PeterMac squandering his savings).
Why isn't there anything in that article from a source close to the McCanns or friend of the family?
And most importantly of all, is Kate furious or do the McCanns welcome the trolls who are raising awareness for poor missing Madeleine?
Taken in the context of previous "troll" news items, this article isn't bad at all.

This must surely be a candidate for the most bizarre sentence ever to leave the keyboard of a "journalist".
Jerry Lawton wrote:It was revealed that 1,559 people, including trolls, have pledged donations via a website
Besides, who was it revealed by, and to? It was hardly a secret in the first place.

Oh, I think it's brilliant!
Let's face it, "Well wishers donate £25k" isn't nearly as big a hook as "Sick Trolls Have £25k Whip Round". I wouldn't be interested in the former, but my curiosity would certainly be piqued by the latter.
Then he even highlights the fact that the MPS have apparently donated £1000. If that doesn't get the readers drawn in, nothing will.
To round it all off, he then very helpfully tells the readers exactly where to go and look to find the site!
Thanks Jerry. You really are a wee diamond.

I know. "Including trolls" - really, what on earth does that actually mean? How is he identifying these people, or is he just using the term that has been coined in irony by a number of those donating to justify his inflammatory and halfwitted headline? It's puerile nonsense, as is only to be expected from the Daily Star.

Re:Sick Trolls raise 25k for McCann cop's appeal-Daily Star.
I don't think the article is bad at all, it seems to be getting the word out there. The Sick Trolls is a bit silly, just imagine how much could be raised if we were all fit and healthy. Pardon the pun.

I wonder if he gets himself tied up in knots with his grammar & syntax because he is so desperately trying to get the truth out without giving the McCanns cause for complaint.

Re:Dr.Amarals Defence Fund update.
The fund is now £26.015, a few donations made through the Daily Star.

Funny how "sick trolls" are prepared to put their name & MONEY where their mouth is. Unlike pro-#McCann activists who hide & abuse. #amaral

Looks like Leanne never gave Jerry Lawton any comment......

Hi @JerryLawton, quick question. You implied in your article that I have given you a comment, which isn't true. Can you amend that? #McCann

I wonder how much has been donated to the "Fund" or the bike ride by the shills and activists.
They may of course realise that neither will do anything for truth, justice, or finding what happened to Madeleine, but will be consumed by lawyers' fees, web site managers, mortgage payments, and dodgy detetives in the first instance, and admin and staff costs in the second.

Didn't come up on the lottery,
but have submitted a PPI investigation request for mortgage and credit cards over some years.
Will let you know what happens.
every little helps.

Well I hope the Kate and Gerry are putting a wee bit extra in their paid "staffs" pockets cos they seem to have descended into melt down since Amarals fund was started the ones doing it for free just carry on as normal.

That's correct and the sub- ed lazily used the latest catchphrase [ not realising that today "sick" is slang for something good and cool ]
