The words "left without money and a phone" don't inspire confidence.
Let's hope for a happy outcome here.

It says she is 4 foot tall.
That's incredibly small for a 13 year old girl surely?
Anyway, hope she is found safe and well and very quickly.

I can't find this clip of the parents anywhere else than on Facebook which will restrict those who can see it.
Those who can, what do you think?

You don't need to be a member to watch that.
Very odd behaviour by the mum. Can't even look into the camera.
Something is not right there.
Perhaps my suspicious mind again.

They are on BBC2 news now. Sadly I think there's something iffy a thirteen year old with no internet access?

Your child is missing for days and no tears? Maybe we are just conditioned to parents who behave oddly but this doesn't seem right to je.Andrew wrote:http://news.sky.com/story/1494732/amber-peat-new-appeal-to-find-missing-girl

Amber's mother, Kelly, said: "We were in the living room, and I heard the front door slam, and that's when I realised. I couldn't see her anywhere - she was just gone.

Teenagers (and older people!) are known for flouncing off in a huff so she could have gone of her own accord but no news of her after several days is worrying.

Apparently that guy in the video is not her biological dad. He lives in Scotland.

"They said it was one of the best holidays they've ever had."
No mention of her on the Missing People website, nor on their facebook page, nor on their twitter. Why?

Re: The case of Amber Peat
Just had a look at the Missing People website / Twitter page. Strange how there is no mention. I might be wrong but I'm sure they didn't mention Rebecca Watts when she first went missing either?
They do however promote this for example.... (3 hours ago on twitter)
http://www.missingpeople.org.uk/help-us-find/john-jamieson-15-003814
John is a 71 year old man and was last seen boarding a plane to Thailand.
Probably had enough of this country and sloped off quietly to spend the remainder of his days drinking cold beers in the hot sun.
Anyway,
Mr Peat said - 'we told her to clean a cool box out that we had sandwiches in for the journey home. She didn't want to do the chore and that was the last conversation'
So they didn't speak to her on the journey home or that evening or the following day....?
Very odd.

Re: The case of Amber Peat
The reports are conflicting and confusing but the important thing is that the police will have got an account from parents and hopefully other witness/es.
I have so far heard
1 Amber left without taking her purse or phone [via which she was not allowed to use social media, but if she ever went out not in her parents' company, could she have used FB and twitter or must an adult register a minor?
2. Amber did not have a mobile phone.
3. Amber was upstairs in a huff after a fairly trivial disagreement over household chores. She was heard leaving but not seen.
4. She was dressed in a black hoodie. If she was not seen by an independent witness, then the family must have guessed she stayed in the top they last saw her in, as they only heard the door open and close.
I find it very strange that given this girl has been described as young for her age, she was allowed to leave her home, in a huff or not, without being followed and asked where she was going.
Just heard a report mother heard door slam and when she looked outside Amber was nowhere to be seen.
Other than to say this is another aspect of the account which I find strange, I am refraining from commenting.
The weather has been lousy, she seems to have vanished into thin air and the police do not think that she has been abducted. They are right to have grave concerns for her welfare.
Have not heard who reported her missing and when but am keeping in mind the procedures I posted over on CMOMM a good while back : police always make a careful note of who reports the person as missing.

Ooops - apologies. Ignore the link/comment above.
Got it wrong - He was last seen boarding a plane from Thailand to Heathrow.
(Probably went straight back to Thailand again)

Police 'searching home'
Police are reportedly searching a house close to where missing schoolgirl Amber Peat disappeared after a row with her parents.
Fears have been growing over the 13-year-old who stormed out of her home in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, on Saturday afternoon.
There have been reports that the property of a pensioner close to her family home is being searched.
A Nottinghamshire Police press officer confirmed officers are carrying out searches on a number of buildings in the local area but there are no official suspects and no warrants issued.
Nottingham Post reporter Mark Williams tweeted: "Police now searching a house close to where Amber Peat lives... I have been told a man in his 70s lives there..."

Re: The case of Amber Peat
Whatever the outcome this will be resolved within 24 hours imo. I hope for a good one for this girl but I don't think it will be the case, sadly.
eta I found the police super at the press conference interacting with the parents interesting and noted that he said they were making enquiries in Cornwall when a reporter asked about that connection. I guess they were advised by police on what to say/not to say in advance for good reasons.

More details on house search
More details about the house the police searched have emerged.
Officers spent an hour looking at the house in the same Mansfield street as Amber's home.
It is believed a man in his 70s lives in the house, but police thought Amber may have hidden there because he has been in hospital in the past few months.
Officers were also seen sifting through an area of grassland roughly half a mile from their home, reports the Nottingham Post.

That is interesting and ominous so early into the investigation.
Lets hope for once nothing really bad has happened to this girl.

A teenage girl "hiding" without mobile phone or money in an empty house in their street? And police also searching "grassland" a little further away ...? I really do hope I'm wrong in my thoughts :-(

Re: The case of Amber Peat
I find it a bit odd that the police said this:
And then made a point about making inquiries down in Cornwall...Am I reading too much into that?
Supt McFarlane confirmed they were liaising with colleagues in Scotland, where Amber's natural father lived, but had "no specific information to suggest she had travelled"

Re:Another missing teenager -Amber Peat.Police concerned for missing Mansfield girl.
This to me is very strange on many levels, why the delay in reporting her missing, that is if I have read the reports right. The mother on videos seems to be acting odd, does anyone know if Amber actually returned from the holiday in Cornwall.

From what I can gather, I think/believe she was reported missing on Saturday but having found no sign of her locally, the police have gone national.
I may be wrong but the pic below is said to be a very recent photo and I think that could be a picture from the Cornwall holiday. Looks like a caravan sofa to me?

She doesn't look a very happy child in that photo does she ? The thing about no internet access and the emphasis on that is niggling me and I don't know why
