Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
The man in the programme, Bert Spencer, was the original suspect but he was thought to have a cast-iron alibi. Four known criminals were later convicted of the murder but eventually cleared, though not before one of them had died in prison.
Spencer spent 14 years in prison for another murder a year later very near to the first one. The case against him is circumstantial and I don't suppose he will ever be charged with it.

Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
From what read about it (in a very short time), then he (Bert) does seem the prime suspect.

Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
I don't understand the alibi issue. His secretary at first said that he had been in the hospital where he worked all day but later said that he could have left at some time without her knowing.
However, he was an ambulance driver so why would it have been accepted originally that he was there all day?

Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
Yes he did admit that he took a lunch break ,I THINK freedom ,but he was having to rehash things . His first wife said it all ,and he had no real alibi for the times and he knew ,that she knew ,she spille the beans .So I think now he will have something more to answer to.The chap that did the programn pointed out so many things to him,,and he just kept looking him straight in the eyes that and was a bit threatening towards that chap . He sure did a good job on working out in each situation ,and questioned him over again . We shall hear more of this I think. joyce1938

The Louise Woodward case
I've been reminded of this case today with the way that the murder verdict on Oscar Pistorius looks as if it may be overturned.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louise_Woodward_case
There were absolute hysteria on the part of the British media when Louise was originally convicted of second-degree murder. They had all been painting a picture of her as an innocent abroad at the mercy of a corrupt legal system.
The conviction was later changed to involuntary manslaughter and Louise was freed.

Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
Evil disgusting horrible pair. Rot in hell.
Snipped:
A significant case review is being carried out into the circumstances leading up to Liam's death after a number of witnesses told the trial they had raised concerns about the toddler's health and wellbeing with social services.
... and will anything be done about it and will anyone be held accountable.
Of course they won't.

This is horrendous. This 13 month old baby died suddenly of 'severe injuries ' Even a judge has said he feels her father sexually assaulted her. Her father denies this and is in hiding
However because of a series of failings by Cumbria Police it is unlikely he will face a trial

It is from Longellow Chatelaine. "Though the mills of God grind slowly, they grind exceeding small.
Though with patience He stands waiting, with exactness grinds He all"
Very apt. j xx

Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
Thank you for a proper translation, a bit more elaborate than the Dutch one, but says it all ... whilst we're waiting for justice.

Sounds like a fight broke out. Jealous rage influenced by drink and drugs no doubt.

Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
This reminds me of an incident at the home of Diana Dors which my mother told me about; she wasn't there I hasten to add.
From what I recall, someone drowned during a swapping party so it was an accidental death rather than murder in this current story.
