Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
There was a well-publicised case in London in 1985 when a mother claimed that her daughter and another child had been abducted in a park.
This is the best link I can find, which doesn't say much about the others.

Another fake abduction in 1984.

I didn't know until now (see the link) that Louise's father was later jailed for killing his brother.

Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
... my personal fave is the chap who got his mates to stage a kidnap so he could go out on the lash with them.
Reminds me of a time when I told ex Mrs Andrew I was having a weekend away with the lads many moons ago. Spent a week in Crete instead with the lads but couldn't bring myself to tell her that I was going.
And another time, I was actually away in Zante with ex Mrs Andrew. She was unwell so had an early night. I waited for her to fall asleep and pushed the moped down the road, roared it up and went into town for a few. Lost my moped, slept on the beach, walked 6 miles back at lunchtime the next day. Hotel staff and the Greek police were all there on my return with a very worried but now angry ex Mrs Andrew.
I suppose there's a reason why she's an ex.

I was reading about this last week on my hols and just found the article again.
Well I suppose it's more believable than a certain other 'abduction'.

Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
She seems to have omitted her UFO experiences from her website.
I suppose calling an Alien 'Mum' would perhaps dilute her credibility somewhat.
All mumbo-jumbo anyway. (IMO)

Peter Sutcliffe declared sane and will leave Broadmoor for prison
A few articles about this, this morning.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3735309/Ripper-told-cushy-life-32-years-Broadmoor-Sutcliffe-going-proper-jail-officially-declared-sane.html
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/yorkshire-ripper-peter-sutcliffe-moved-8613383
Ripper is told his cushy life is over: After 32 years in Broadmoor, Sutcliffe is going to a proper jail after officially being declared sane
Peter Sutcliffe has been declared 'sane' and will leave Broadmoor
He will be moved to a top-security prison within weeks after hearing
Mental Health Tribunal's decision will save taxpayer £250,000 per year
The 70-year-old will live out his days among inmates aware of his crimes
He will be a dead man walking and a target for sure.

Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
I had doubts even at the time he was sentenced that he was really mentally ill to such a degree that it caused his actions.
Just plain evil and entirely responsible for what he did in my opinion, like the West couple and Ian Brady and Myra Hindley.

Hi Joyce. He's been given a whole-life tariff anyway. So in other words he'll never get released apart from in a bodybag.
And rightly so, IMO.

The murder of Alison Shaughnessy
https://thetruthshallsetyoufreeblog.wordpress.com/2016/01/05/lest-we-forget-the-brutal-murder-of-alison-shaughnessy/
The case of a newlywed who was murdered in her own home.
Two sisters (one of whom was having an affair with the victim's husband) were convicted but later acquitted.
I must admit to thinking that they were most likely guilty.

Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
This is a shocking one when you read up on some of the details that have since been released after they were charged. Truly horrendous.

Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
That link is a bit moralising and judgemental.
This one is better; I do have to admit that the forensic evidence was very thin in the case against the sisters.

This sounds dreadful - the Texas case.

Re: Miscellaneous Criminal Cases
Yes I saw that too. I wonder what relation Peter and Rebecca Eccleston - who played children - are to him.
I knew all about the case beforehand - not that I remember it when it happened, I hasten to add. It was very controversial but that was the law at the time.
