Thanks for that Bampots. I couldn't place him till I saw that Youtube footage. One of those actors we see so often in so many different guises, but cannot name (me anyway!) Now I know who it is.

Oh no, 69 and that horrible cancer word again - I remember him better from Emerson Lake and Palmer. Fanfare for the common man....

Re: Celebrity deaths
Been a long day and just saw the headline without reading the article so posted it up.
I was thinking Winnie the Pooh and got confused with AA Milne. And he passed away 60 years ago.
Strong stuff at that German Beer Market.
RIP Mr Gill anyway.

I remember this lady from A Family At War, a programme that my mother really loved - and, believe me, she was hard to please.
The title was sadly appropriate for my own kith and kin but that's another story.

Re: Celebrity deaths
Was just reading up on that. A bizarre one.
Also bizarre that 'Missing People' seem to have no mention of him either. I would've thought he was the 'type' that would suit the company agenda quite well being fairly high profile and all. (although not that high profile as I've never heard of him)

I don't know whether Missing People only deals with those who've gone missing in recent years. I haven't checked the dates of everyone here but, those I have are nearly all from this year, with a couple from 2012 and 2014.

The writer of the book To Sir With Love on which the film was based.
He certainly had a good innings, reaching 104.

Re: Celebrity deaths
I was wondering if she'd died some time ago - and the news had gone unreported - as she's been at death's door for years.

Re: Celebrity deaths
Yes - Eva Gabor. And there was Magda Gabor as well. Only Zsa Zsa had a child and she died last year.
Wiki =
"The Gabor sisters were three famous Hungarian-American actresses/socialites: Magda (11 June 1915 – 6 June 1997), Zsa Zsa (6 February 1917 – 18 December 2016), and Eva (11 February 1919 – 4 July 1995).
They were born into a family of Hungarian-Jewish background, in Budapest, Hungary to Vilmos and Jolie Gabor. The family moved to New York in the wake of World War II. Magda had played a small role in a Hungarian film before the war, so Jolie and her three daughters moved to Hollywood to break into the film business.
Their claim to fame, perhaps beyond their acting careers, is that of serial matrimony: being known for their numerous marriages. Magda was married six times, Zsa Zsa eight times (or nine, as one marriage was later annulled), and Eva five times. British actor George Sanders was first married to Zsa Zsa and later to Magda.
Zsa Zsa's only child, Constance Francesca Hilton, was born on 10 March 1947, by then-husband Conrad Hilton. Zsa Zsa was the only Gabor sister to have a child. Francesca Hilton died on 5 January 2015, at the age of 67, from an apparent stroke or heart attack. She had no children.[1]"

Re: Celebrity deaths
Just been reading about the Gabor family - all seems so sad and pointless - diamonds, men, socialites, hollywood etc... how empty. The mother Jolie didn`t know her daughter (Magda) died before her and apparently Zsa Zsa didn`t know her only daughter had died before her, because she was senile. That poor daughter of ZZ and Conrad Hilton had her ups and downs with the Hiltons it seems.

Status Quo's Rick Parfitt dies aged 68
Status Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt has died in hospital in Spain aged 68, his manager has said.
He died from a severe infection after being admitted to hospital on Thursday following complications to a shoulder injury.
Parfitt had been due to launch a solo career with an album and autobiography planned for 2017.
He has suffered a series of health problems including having to undergo a quadruple heart bypass in 1997.
In October, the musician said he would no longer be performing with his band after suffering from a heart attack in the summer.
RIP
