Did Burke kill JonBenet
Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3795868/Suspect-investigators-believe-murdered-JonBenet-Ramsey-named.html
A retired FBI agent and his colleagues working on the JonBenet Ramsey murder case will name the person investigators believe killed the six-year-old girl 20 years ago.
Forensic linguistic James Fitzgerald, along with other original investigators on the case, teamed up with new experts to re-examine the evidence of the unsolved case.
Fitzgerald said he along with his cohort will name a suspect they believe murdered JonBenet as well as individuals who helped that person get away with the 1996 killing during the conclusion of a four-hour limited docu-series airing on CBS, Yahoo TV reported.

That certainly sounds as if they're thinking of the same person as we all seem to agree about here.

Snipped:
After Patsy called 9-1-1 claiming that her daughter was kidnapped and that the family had discovered a ransom note, she quickly attempted to hang up the phone. However, the operator recorded six seconds of what was previously unintelligible background conversation.
Using modern audio technology unavailable at the time, retired FBI profiler Jim Clemente and former criminal behavior expert Laura Richards managed to isolate what they believe is the content of the conversation.
According to the experts, one voice sounds like it could be JonBenet's father, John, saying, "Were not speaking to you." Another voice, which they believe to be Patsys, can be heard asking, "What did you do," followed by "Help me, Jesus."
A small child's voice, which the experts think could be JonBenet's then-9-year-old brother, Burke, asking, "What did you find?" After which, the female voice can be heard saying, "We've called the police, now what?"

Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
On one of the many new docu-series investigating the murder of Jonebenet, they were going to 'reveal' the killer on last night's conclusive episode....
Just seen that they have done and it was the brother, Burke.
JonBenet Ramsey was killed by her older brother Burke and it was covered up by her parents after a fight over a midnight snack of pineapples, investigators have claimed.

Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
Part snipped:
"In my opinion, the Ramsey family did not want law enforcement to solve this case, and that's why it remains unsolved," says retired FBI profiler Jim Clemente.
After going through the evidence available and conducting interviews with some of the those involved in the case, a panel of law enforcement specialists all agreed on the theory that Burke Ramsey killed his sister, JonBenet, during Christmas 1996.
Retired FBI profiler Jim Clemente and former Scotland Yard criminal behavior expert Laura Richards worked with specialists for the CBS two-part special, The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey. The series premiered Sunday night.
The panel of investigators included forensic linguistics expert James Fitzgerald, famed criminologist Werner Spitz, former Boulder Country District Attorney's Office investigator James Kolar, statement analyst Stan Burke and forensic scientist Dr. Henry Lee.
Everyone on the panel concluded on the theory that the then 9-year-old Burke — who he and his parents have always maintained was innocent — killed the then 6-year-old JonBenet by accident in a fit of rage, perhaps over a toy or her eating his food.
The seasoned investigators also asserted that John and Patsy Ramsey concocted the entire kidnapping scenario to confuse authorities and spare Burke.
"I don't think Burke was involved in the cover-up," Fitzgerald noted.
Clemente added, "In my opinion, the Ramsey family did not want law enforcement to solve this case, and that's why it remains unsolved."

Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
A stun gun was used on JonBenet before the fatal injuries were inflicted. Would a child have had access to one?
Mind you, why would there be one in the house for anyone to use?
I can understand why both parents would want to protect their son but we are still left with the baffling question - whichever family member was responsible, why go to all the trouble of writing the ransom note, concocting a story and then leaving the body to be found in the house?

Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
It's all a bit weird... Why would Burke come out and speak publicly for the first ever time on one TV show and then on another TV show at exactly the same time they name and shame him as the killer? (although there's always been suspicions on him)
Will Burke and his father sue them for defamation? Be interesting what the next move will be....
I suppose there is some logic behind this and why the cover up etc. I always thought it was the mother that was solely responsible but now not so sure.
Maybe at first they intended to move JonBenets' body away from the house but felt it was too risky or were running out of time.
Like another high-profile case, it was all a bit haphazard. But clearly staged.
Imo etc.

Here's the answer according to Burke - it was a roaming paedophile!!!

Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
I watched the last part of the last episode of the above tv show, and the stun gun theory was discounted because they couldn't match the wounds to any stun gun that they located.
The alternate theory was that the wounds on JonBenet's body were caused by toy railway tracks - the kind that fit together. They compared the measurements of the spikes coming out of a railway track piece and decided that these caused the wounds. These railway tracks were in the house and also in Burke's bedroom. They theorized that Burke stabbed JonBenet with the railway track piece, either to try and get her to wake up after being knocked unconscious, or to see how responsive she was.
It's an interesting suggestion.

Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
Well of course he's going to come out with that line.... Especially when he's just been outed himself as the killer on another major American TV channel.....
I'm actually surprised Burke went on TV in the first place. It appears to have fuelled everything and even more fingers are pointing in his direction now than ever before.

Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
IIRC at the time this happened there were a lot of stories circulating suggesting that Burke was the killer and that Patsy and John had covered it up in order to shield him from prosecution.
So really this is just revisiting those stories, with some perspective added by the intervening years and the availability of more recent forensic investigative techniques.
I've always been of the opinion Burke killed her, possibly fueled by a childhood jealousy or resentment.

Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
I can't listen to it all due to the irritating repetition of words but this is what some people think was said after the phone wasn't hung up properly.
https://www.reddit.com/r/JonBenet/comments/2sdvfd/911call_official_transcript/
"Their work produced a startling conclusion. Patsy apparently had trouble hanging up the telephone, and before it rested on the cradle she was heard to moan, "Help me, Jesus, Help me, Jesus." Her husband was heard to bark, "We're not talking to you." And in the background was a young-sounding voice: "What did you find?" It was JonBenet's brother, Burke".

Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
So if something happened between Jonbenet and Burke which caused her death.....and since Burke would not be considered guilty because of age ......would the parents and the DAs office be justified in keeping the lid on all that subsequently was to transpire???

Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
... that's a valid question.
No charges would be brought towards Burke because he was under 10, so why cover it all up...
It could of been passed off as a tragic accident. But for whatever reason it was made to look anything but.

Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
Perhaps there were signs of sexual abuse - as we've possibly seen - and it was necessary to invent a pedophile abductor in order to explain that, as they knew it would be discovered in the Post Mortem.

Re: The murder of JonBenet Ramsey
The age of criminal responsibility in Colorado is 10 I understand, the same as in the U K, so at 9 years and 11 months, Burke would not have been charged.
If it was him - and I think it's 50-50 as to whether it was him or Patsy - I suppose that panic set in and, in the heat of the moment, unwise decisions were made and, as time went by, it became impossible to tell the truth - very much the same as for the McCanns.

Re:Jonbenet Ramsey.
I have always suspected John Ramsey (and maybe some of his 'friends') in Jonbenet's death. Patsy was too obvious in my opinion, although I do believe she was responsible for the ransom letter, controlled by her.... husband. Patsy is gone now, so why is Burke now in the frame? red herring in my opinion. Was Jonbenet the apple of her fathers eye, after all she did seem to be named after him, John Bennett Ramsey. Why is the case 'supposedly' still ongoing, it could have faded away after Patsy's death. Just my thoughts as ever.

Didn't catch the measurements but they showed the toy train set in Burke's bedroom and they held up an identical piece of the tracking and showed a measurement on JonBenet's skin and said the holes matched the tracks.

The lawyer for the family of slain child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey denounced a CBS documentary theorizing she was killed by her brother, Burke, as a "false and unprofessional television attack" and threatened to sue the network for libel.
L. Lin Wood, an Atlanta attorney who said he had successfully other media outlets over similar accusations against Burke Ramsey, branded the program as a broadcast riddled with “lies, misrepresentations, distortions and omissions.”
“I will be filing a lawsuit on behalf of Burke Ramsey,” Wood told Reuters in a telephone interview. “CBS' false and unprofessional attacks on this young man are disgusting and revolting.”
The network responded to Wood with a terse statement: “CBS stands by the broadcast and will do so in court.”
