Please everyone remember the items found will now be analysed,
so although there may seem to be no answers as yet hopefully we should have news on what exactly was found soon.
This search wasn't done on a whim after just ONE witness statement.
The Operation Ben team were already following this line of enquiry after going through 25 years of information and witness statements.
The new witness statement just corroborated the info SYP already had and was a targeted search - not a wild goose chase.
The Police and the Hellenic Search and Rescue team have our utmost respect and can't really thank them enough.
As Kerry has already said- they are heroes.

South Yorkshire police confirmed that digging had been completed, and said Monday’s press conference would cover “the work that has been conducted so far and will give additional details about this particular phase of Operation Ben”

Thanks chrissie. Still seems like a long shot when they said the 70 items are low interest and won't be tested until they take them back to the UK (if they get permission from the Kos prosecutor).

I honestly hope somethings been found for Kerry, 25 years is a long time.

That's the way I read it.

How can they close the search with a positive outcome like that when by their own admission they haven't yet analysed the things that need to be analysed?

And there you have it.....we have to believe them....is that really all there is???

I really do feel for Kerry but the Mirror have used the word failure and I now expect the police briefing tomorrow to outline the Dino did it theory based on witnesses coming forward well after the man has died.

Unless it is his own family members that have given this info I can't see how it could be true based on all the information given by those there that day unless their information wasn't the full truth.

This isn't justice for anyone and that is tragic.

Kerry Needham told the Daily Mirror she is "still in limbo", adding: "They know he's dead but just can't find him. Police said it's time we ended our 25-year search. They are right but I can't say goodbye knowing he's still on that island somewhere. I feel physically sick. I can't feel any worse than I do.

How do the police know he's dead? How can they come to this definitive conclusion? They can't just make a statement like that without having some solid evidence... can they?
