Re: 10th anniversary stories: both lunatic and sensible varieties
He just says it's a line of enquiry that needs investigating.
But, it does sound a very plausible way of ensuring the body can never be found. They did have access to the church and it would be a dignified means of
dealing with her body especially with a short special service before hand. It would also enable Gerry to say his famous words regarding 'Find the body and prove it!' or words to that effect.
He said that so confidently with a smirk I seem to remember.. In their predicament it would seem plausible. And, presumably to enable the forensic evidence in the Hire car... they would have had
to deliver the body using that car...?

Re: 10th anniversary stories: both lunatic and sensible varieties
This appears to have resurfaced again because GA apparently spoke of the theory on Portuguese TV last night. Does anyone know if this was a reshowing of the original interview he made about 3 years ago or a new programme in which he has reiterated the theory?
Did he even appear on Portuguese TV last night?
ETA Here's the link to the original Mirror report in June 2014:

ETA2 According to Joana Morais the original TV interview was on Correio da Manha TV:

I hope that Portuguese TV knows better than to cobble together an old interview and pretend that it's new - hi there, Rahni Sadler!
I expect we'll find out more in due course.

Agree, Freedom. The point I'm trying to make is whether or not this was a random theory GA chucked into the fray 3 years ago as a one-off, or a theory that is being actively persued and one which he is sticking by three years later.

MADDIE MYSTERY WOMAN Madeleine McCann cops ‘hunting mysterious woman in purple seen loitering near Portuguese apartment just TWO hours before three-year-old went missing’
Talking of purple, Jez Wilkins mentions that colour in his rog.......

Re: 10th anniversary stories: both lunatic and sensible varieties
Very interesting.
They won't release the name, so they knew who it was.
The way it is phrased in the paper makes the woman sound suspicious, but if she was standing waiting for her boyfriend (my guess because she is linked to someone within the club) isn't it more likely that she actually saw something?
The worrying part is that if she did see something that would incriminate the wrong people there seems to be no guarantee that the clues will be followed to the logical conclusion.

This is Jenny Murat who spotted the woman in purple whilst out driving to the shop.
Didn't she tell the police that her son, Robert, was at home with her all evening? If so, that means she wasn't at home all evening.

The thing is, the fact they are having to publish these articles e.g. 'booted off ' original enquiry etc shows they are still desperate. If they were home and dry
they would not be needed.

Might depend on what you consider as evening. If she went shopping, I'm sure the time of that could be determined.

So long before Gerry stood looking down at his elder daughter.

Re: 10th anniversary stories: both lunatic and sensible varieties
Acc. to the article the police knows the womans name and the name is withheld.
"But they did talk to Brit holidaymaker Jeremy Wilkins, a tennis playing holiday pal of Maddie’s dad, who had also spotted a woman lurking in the area."
What JW is saying here is that he saw JT and no one else.
1+1=2 or how are they going to trick JT out from this?

Re: 10th anniversary stories: both lunatic and sensible varieties
So John Locket of The Sun -
you have reported that: Just this week, a top British cop said Kate and Gerry have been RULED OUT as suspects in their little girl’s disappearance.
Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley made the comment as he revealed that police could be closer to finding out what really happened to Maddie when she disappeared a decade ago.

Re: 10th anniversary stories: both lunatic and sensible varieties
Although these news items are pointing to the woman being JT, the paper yesterday said the Met have scoured Europe looking for this woman - and JT is supposedly still working at Exeter Uni. That`s if their sources are talking about the same woman.
Maybe GM and JT planned it between them without KM`s knowledge. MBM passed on to the Murat relative who runs an adoption agency in Exeter. No - can`t be cos the dogs say MBM is dead.

Has anyone considered if this woman is a witness rather than a suspect?

Re: 10th anniversary stories: both lunatic and sensible varieties
If someone was going to move a dead body out of that apartment (or abduct a child) even if concealed in a suitable way, they would need a look out because you wouldn't be able to tell as you left the apartment, who you would or wouldn't encounter. So a look out, with a mobile phone to communiucate, would be very useful. It was too early for an abductor but not a look out.Mimi wrote:Although these news items are pointing to the woman being JT, the paper yesterday said the Met have scoured Europe looking for this woman - and JT is supposedly still working at Exeter Uni.
