Perhaps Kate and Gerry could hire the shamans to assist with the search for Madeleine...

At least we have closure if this turns out to be Nora.

Reports are saying the body is that of an female Caucasian so it's not looking hopeful. Let's hope this was an accident and she didn't suffer.

Re: The Strange Case of Nora Quoirin
Just to add to this, the reason reported in some of the newspapers that the police felt there was no abduction is because the grounds around the cottage where Nora was staying were muddy and messy, and there were no signs of anyone having entered the cottage from the outside as they would have left footprints or other traces.
It's interesting that the person who found her body, a volunteer searcher, said she went up to the waterfall because Nora's mother told her that Nora had been excited about visiting the waterfall - and that Nora's mother had told Nora about this waterfall on the night they arrived.
My question would be, if this was indeed some kind of "woke and wandered" situation, how on earth would Nora, who had a significantly diminished capacity to do anything for herself, actually end up by this specific waterfall, more than a mile from the cottage where she was staying?
Edited to add a news source for the above:

I know :-)
I just found it a bit odd, since there was rampant speculation many years ago that Madeleine's body had been buried under a rock on the beach so that it was under the water at high tide, and then there was speculation that her body had been taken out to sea and dispatched that way. CM's choice of words seemed a bit ironic to me.

Re: The Strange Case of Nora Quoirin
Here's the newspaper story where the searcher told the paper that Nora had been excited about visiting the waterfall:
https://www.thesun.ie/news/4435211/nora-quoirin-cops-find-body-malaysian-jungle-irish/
Looking at the map it seems really unlikely that Nora would have got there by herself.
Which raises even more questions... if it's that inaccessible, and if Nora had trouble walking - as her parents have claimed - how did they plan on taking her there to see it when she was alive?

Yes, there certainly are some questions that need answering about this case.

Re: The Strange Case of Nora Quoirin
All the reports seem to be saying that Nora was found naked which conjures up thoughts that nobody wants to have. However, my sister said she heard an interview yesterday with a spokesperson from the Lucie Blackman Trust who denied this - Nora was wearing the underclothes she had on when she went missing.

Re: The Strange Case of Nora Quoirin
Yes there was a newspaper account that said her mother had said she slept in her underclothes.
I just cannot see how, after such a long and tiring journey that she would have had the energy to climb out of the window and walk in the dark all the way to where she was found.

Re: The Strange Case of Nora Quoirin
The window reached the floor so it didn't have to be climbed through. I agree that it seems very unlikely that Norah could have walked so far of her own volition.
No results yet from the post mortem.

In this article the window doesn't reach the ground, it is a window, https://www.malaymail.com/news/malaysia/2019/08/08/police-only-exit-used-in-missing-irish-teen-case-was-glass-window-other-rou/1778895

Re: The Strange Case of Nora Quoirin
Thank you. I'd assumed from the first photo (which was posted earlier) in that link that the bottom of the window was on the same level as the floor of the room inside.

Re: The Strange Case of Nora Quoirin
Sadly it seems Nora died of starvation and stress, and had been dead for three or four days by the time she was found.

I thought it was going to be something like that; no comfort for her parents. How terrible her last days must have been.

Presumably, the two most important eye-witnesses would be her two siblings who she was sharing a room with? Did they hear or see anything strange? Did they find her missing in the morning? Did either of them wake up that night?

Another Madeleine McCann coincidence... A "broken" window....

Agreed - and their ages (11 and mean that they're easy to interview and able to make meaningful statements. One piece of the puzzle which hasn't been made public, because of course they would have been interviewed immediately by the police.

Re: The Strange Case of Nora Quoirin
Why on earth is Jim Gamble popping up again in this case, seeing as he is a 'former' police officer but apparently an 'advisor' to the family?
State police chief Mohamad Mat Yusop said on Thursday that the autopsy found no evidence that the teenager had been kidnapped, but Mr Gamble insisted it could not be ruled out.
Why is Gamble sticking his neck out here? This is an ongoing police investigation. And how odd that Gamble is talking about a window which cannot be locked. Windows of course featured heavily in the McCann case.
He said: “In the villa we do know that the downstairs window was broken so it couldn't have been locked by the family and could have been opened from outside.”
After his conduct around the McCann case and his aggressive stance on so-called 'trolls' I do not think that Gamble has a shred of credibility. What is his agenda exactly? Why not let the police carry out their investigation?
ETA: Gamble talking about a 'very, very special child'. This again has parallels with how friends and family of Madeleine described her. Every child is special. Why the need for the emphasis?
The family need to be given "the time and the space to grieve with dignity" as they "bring this very, very special child home", he added.

Since Clarence Mitchell and Mark Williams Thomas have already stuck their oars in, perhaps Jim was feeling left out.
