Interesting! I never knew that there was any connection with Clarence.

Probably nobody else will remember this case - brought to mind because of a similar chaotic family lifestyle.

Fortunately the outcome wasn't fatal though. Timothy Davey was a 14-year-old imprisoned in Turkey in the early 1970s for being in possession of cannabis.

His mother had dropped out and taken her six children on the hippy trail.

The sentence caused a lot of controversy - he was certainly more sinned against than sinner - and he was eventually released when he was 17.

Just been reading about it too, I don't ever remember reading about this horrendous case, and now reopened, it looks like they have new evidence to consider.  How the poor families must have gone through all these years without anyone being brought to justice.  Hopefully, they may have a conclusion after so long.

Just imagine being on the jury and having to listen to the evidence here.

Cases like this one - caused by an apparently isolated loss of control - aren't in my view in the same category of evil as those where there is a prolonged history of abuse, such as the recent one in the news, Ellie Butler.
