Closely following this trial imo these witnesses only go to show how desperate the defence is. None interacted with the person they thought was Helen, and all identified her from a distance - two witnesses recognised her because they saw a woman with a dachshund !

The jury in the trial of Ian Stewart, who is accused of murdering the children’s author Helen Bailey, is expected to start considering its verdict this afternoon.
Surely he will be found guilty.....

To me, there's just a doubt as to whether he acted completely on his own.

I'm not sure on that. I've not read all the inner details from the trial but from what I have, then it would appear a 1 man job to me.
Who do you think assisted him?

I think it's been said before here (no time to read back at the moment) that he'd recently had an operation or some medical problem which would have made heavy lifting very difficult.

Yes I recall that however I wouldn't say impossible. Plus while she was in a slightly drugged state he could've summoned her to the garage and literally just pushed her in.
Will see what happens later anyway.

Re: The case of writer Helen Bailey
I have been following this case and Judge Bright has started his summing up which will be concluded tomorrow morning. The judge had this to say about the op Stuart Bailey had
The operation concluded that Stewart’s bout of illness (rectal bleeding) was the result of piles, and not of cancer.”
There is nobody else involved and from what the judge has said at this moment it wouldn't surprise me and many others if he doesn't get life.
Thinking about the love and devotion Mimi and Chirpy are giving to their dogs at this present time, I can't get it out of my head that he more than likely put HB's much loved dog Boris down the cesspit alive. Evil man!

Re: The case of writer Helen Bailey
Thanks, Mo. Yes, I think he most certainly will get life as well. 25 years.
Just refreshed the link so tomorrow it is then.
I thought I'd bring this part of it over:
Sedative found in hair samples
“Toxicologist Dr Mark Piper examined samples of Helen Bailey’s hair. “The sedative drug Zopiclone was found in these samples, as well as Helen’s chest cavity fluid, liver sample and muscle tissue.
“A very low level of paracetamol was also found in Helen’s chest cavity fluid.
“He told you that although Zopiclone will disappear from the body of a living person after only days, it will become incorporated into the hair, where it will be detectable for a long time thereafter.
“He said on the assumption Helen met her death on April 11, the Zopiclone had been ingested by Helen as early as February 2016. “He said Zopiclone would have been ingested by Helen more than once.”

Good news.
I wonder if she'd told him to leave and this was his terrible revenge.

In that Evening Standard film of him being arrested, there is another fellow in a dressing gown standing at the bottom of the stairs to the right of the shot - his face is blanked out. I wonder if that is his son or did he have a `friend` to stay?
Anyone know what his operation was for?

I reckon it's one of his sons, he was arrested just after 7 in the morning. He made out his operation was more than likely to do with cancer! Judge Bright on his summing up stated it was just piles - I will look for the Judges exact words because at the time it was so funny

Thanks Mo. I`ve just read somewhere that he`d just had keyhole surgery - but surely you don`t have keyhole surgery for piles

Well that's what I thought, but there was something about his bowel being turned or something. Everybody was making fun on WebSleuths about IS talking a load of crap! I will keep trying to fine where the judge spoke about all of this. I'm not a member so am finding it difficult to search - it's just a case of going back thru the threads.

Snipped
Judge Bright said
Wedding plans postponed because of Stewart's surgery
“These wedding plans were postponed due to a keyhole surgery operation on Stewart.
“The operation concluded that Stewart’s bout of illness (rectal bleeding) was the result of piles, and not of cancer.”
Also
You have heard from the expert Dr Ashwin Pinto who stated that Stewart was able to leave a full and healthy lifestyle despite his health condition of Myasthenia Gravis - which he was diagnosed with in 1996.”
He had also taken out a critical illness insurance policy which has been paying him 75% of his salary since the diagnosis of Myasthenia in 1996.
