I don't want to compare... but it's very much like the McCann's and the Ramsey's...
Bury and hide the truth at all costs.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
I thought you knew about apostrophes in the wrong places now, Andrew! McCanns and Ramseys if you please.
If as I have wondered, the 11-year-old uncle was involved somehow, then yes it could be a case of covering up to protect him.

Sorry Boss, I did think it looked weird when I typed it. Been a long day.
Was he 11 at the time... I thought he was 17?

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
I totally forgot about Danny, the younger one.
Interesting. I probably need to go and read some more.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
As Seahorse pointed out, the lady in the stone house over the road said she was in all day and saw BN playing
but when he went missing nobody appears to have asked her if she saw anything significant or knew where he might be

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
There's mention of Danny earlier in this topic I think.
He was apparently working on the roof - at 11 years old! Did that seem a better story to tell than what he actually was doing?

I know I asked you the other day - but can you give us all a Satsuma theory on this please...?

Just saying....
My sentiments exactly Andrew. I have often wondered if the grandparents know what happened to Ben. If they do/did then shame on them for prolonging Kerry's agony all these years.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
Let's wait and see what they find. If it's nothing, we are back to square one. If they find elements connected with BN, we can think again. If they find BN himself, the mystery will be virtually solved. But the fact they are excavating so close to farmhouse doesn't fit the current media hype about Dino accidentally running him over. If he had done that right next to the farmhouse, someone would have known

The police chief leading the search for missing Ben Needham will today brief the toddler's mum on the progress in the investigation.
Detective Inspector Jon Cousins will meet emotional Kerry Needham and discuss what his officers have discovered in the digs for Ben.
He took time out from Day 5 of the new excavations to speak to Kerry.
Kerry is not on the island of Kos.
He will also speaking to Ben's dad Simon Ward on the phone.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
If Dino was digging a road (driveway) at the farmhouse, as the Mirror suggests, why would he have been asked to dig it at the rear of the property on scrubland that doesn't appear to be part of the farmhouse plot? That' s where the current excavation is taking place

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
Could BN been accidentally run over a bit further field and Dino was unaware of it. One of the Grandparents or both, later discovered the lifeless body and brought it back closer to the house. In fear of shame, trouble and repercussions decided to bury BN around the back of the house somewhere. This cesspit for example.
Not being able to tell their daughter the truth decided to play the only card they could, which was the abduction one. Once a lie was told, there was no going back. Ever.
Just musing..........

Snipped:
THE search for Ben Needham may have to come to a halt after the landowner complained about “issues” with the large-scale dig.
Search teams have been scouring the site, in the Greek island of Kos, hoping to find clues about the 21-month-old’s disappearance, but this morning the land owner and his lawyer reportedly asked teams to stop to the hunt.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
The abduction story was never shouted from the rooftops from day one though with all the suspicions as with the McCanns that they'd prepared the scenario in advance.
As far as I can recall, the initial belief was that Ben had simply wandered off and only later did abduction by an outsider become one of the possible solutions.
Regarding The Sun article, I do hope that the search is able to be completed to allay all suspicions that Ben could be there.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
Yeah, I know they didn't shout it from the rooftops like the McCanns and their fairytale, but they could of just kept quiet until the hypothesis went in the 'abduction' direction and then pinned everything on it when it did... If you get what I mean.
Some more news about the land owner. Who is the landowner and why is he so bothered now. Surely they asked him in the first place.. Seems odd that as soon as some progress is being made, he turns up with his lawyer in tow...

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
This seems to confirm that the land where the current dig is taking place isn't part of the farmhouse plot even though it's directly behind the farmhouse
But it's too far from the original building site (75m or so) to have been part of the constructions back in 1991 when the villa was being built
IF they find something here, it would be a special hole for a special purpose

Did the police get permission to dig on this land? Do they need it?
Maybe further digging will need to be supervised by an archeologist.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
It appears this land dispute could be a major stumbling block.
They might not be able to continue at all and literally all go back home.
Interesting to see what's said at 2 O'clock.....

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
This is a criminal investigation. Cannot remember any case [but I may be ignorant in that respect], where police were stopped in doing search and needing permission from the landowner...
