Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
Thank you very much for taking the trouble Onehand that's very helpful. Next time I'll try google translate.
Is a german court no more than a rubber stamp or sentencing procedure, isn't anyone such as a lawyer allowed to speak for the accused?

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
and it was not kept at just one bit of fire in this trial, and possible also what could have a result in a later possible maddie trial, are a dispute of the defense, the raid on the old box factory, that lead to the finding of material on usb drives and other storing devices, and would also have brought the supposed autobiographic writings by cb, better known as das buch, and das buch eins. the book and the book one. that is said to contain stories with sexual aggression against women and young children, was not to be seen as lawfull.
the defense says, there was a entry of a person living near the terrain, that was walking his dog, end ended up through a hole in the fences on the terrain itself, and that entry lead to finding something sticking above ground that looked like cloth, and resulted in a noticing of the scent of decomposition.
the dog walker was after that accompanied by the police, what was also his partner in live going in to look what was going on. and the procedure was seen by the defense as not a lawful entry.
and they mingle not very clear in the article in bild in, that the search was set out around a suspicion of a connection to the case of the missing young girl inga gehricke.
well it is not unknown, that it can happe that you have to use a bit of trickery to get access to an area around a possible suspect, by using a minor law to get them in your hands, and that you accidentally can find odds and ends that could be used as evidence in another case.
i know we have been quite fond to use traffic controls for such enterprises, but after a judge called that route unlawful, it could no longer be used. it was not that common, and only for the so called big fishes.
and of course there is to understand, that a complaint as what was written at the time in the local media, that the police was gotten onto the terrain because of a stench complaint and rubbish kept on site. usually the minor stuff for a environment inspector, or maybe two officers in uniform.
not really a criminal offence to get a full raid with between 50 and 100 officers of police in for multiple days. it is easy to understand that would not be very much agreeing with the kind of offence.
bild writes that two stories from both books are part of the evidence in the trails about the 5 cases at the moment in court.
and i saw a question about the uk press, well the daily mail found a new low in reporting, by putting the full details of one of the charges, the one in the rape case of 2005, online.
i would not put the link up. it is hard enough a victim has to know all these details have to be said out loud in court, but put them in full online in a online paper means they are out there forever for all to see. normally you have to go to the court room to hear all the details, so if you think you have to know it all, you have to do just that. but offer them in this way to the public, i think is going way to far.
so looking back over the day, there is at least a day or 3 to be expected of cb stories, connecting to madeleine of course to go in the uk media. even when all reporters will tell you it is of course not a trial about the case of madeleine.
the defense team also had already spoken some words about the 'trial by media'practice and the endless connection to a case, the defendant is not able to defend against, because there are no charges brought in such a case. and without charges the defense team has nothing to know about what the prosecution has in mind.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
I still don't really understand it must be a language and cultural difference. CB is in prison for raping an elderly woman, with all the other cases stacked against him why are they now putting him in the dock on multiple charges in one trial? Is it normal in germany for multiple cases to be heard together?
I've been reading around on different sites trying to make sense of it all but haven't found anything to clarify what is to me such a muddle. Most of the info out there comes from the media, it's hard to know what's true and what's false. Even the info from the german chief comes via the media I think.
Is that portuguese journalist still reporting on the case?
The bits found in the old factory is that true? I don't believe anything about the video tapes that passed between CBs friends. So much has been said but nothing seen.
I don't think CB has anything to do with Maddies case but for some reason the media are using him to sell Maddies name. The mystery is not solved so much picking to do.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
it is not very common to put multiple different cases into one trial, but it is possible, even in the uk.
look at the case of lucy letby, that nurse, had to stand trial for multiple offences in one trial, not each separate victim. and in minor crimes is it even more usual, burglary is usually all cases you can prove, or the defendant has confessed too.
and the approach is taken here most likely to handle all at once, each case will get its own part in this trial, but they like to get cb in forever under a ruling for security in an institution. they have also a psych in the last seating of the court to handle that aspect, if it ever gets there.
the defense is doing its best to overthrown a lot of stuff. and that is why they are there of course.
when you look at the cases it does look a lot of throwing mud ans see what does stick to cb in the end.
i do not mind what they put against cb, he already had 3 sound convictions on interfering with young female victims with crimes of a sexual nature. so for me it is more a surprise why 3 times was not enough to keep such a character out of society.
and if he done 1 or more of the cases now in court, it only tells that the german justice system failed before. not just a little bit.
all in all the complete approach does not sound as keeping up the pretenses of upholding the law, is is more a jumping up and down, with the assistance of the media to make it into a kind of circus act.
and the tales like there is no jury so you could not interfere with this trial is plain stupid, even a well learned and very experienced judge cannot unthink stuff, and it is all and everywhere to hear there is a monster in the dock.
think about it for a bit, you are there sitting as an female judge, hearing all these story with the details of it, and also know about the history, that there are already 3 sound convictions against very young females, never been a reason for this guy to make better choices in his life.
has a long list of not having any respect for any laws or ethical principles, and you have to decide to declare the evidence and statements as sound enough for a conviction. and because of the age of the cases, this is the only chance to convict, because fresh evidence to get done with the double jeopardy clause, is not there to expect at all.
it can not have escaped these judges the prosecution has eve a much worse case to present against this guy, what if you have doubts about evidence or statements, would you dare to let him go walking out. also knowing it is there on your plate because earlier trials did not had the guts to use a way to keep him in.
that is the dilemma of course, do you accept a lesser job done by the prosecution and go for keeping this guy of the streets. because there is also the if cb was not the one who acted in 1 or more of these cases, there is just another perp around. and how would that agree with doing the victims justice?
and a lot of what i have seen until now is a prosecution that dances on a very thin line, loosing balance but just reaching out to the end of that line. the question becomes is there still a law left when this episode is done?

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
I see what you're saying. My thoughts hinge more on the charges being made against CB span many years and cover ground whereas someone like the nurse case is more contained.
Waiting for news about a connection with the Maddie case I haven't followed the various other charges because it has been mostly media reports. Even news of the start of trial is delivered by way of the media.
The media haven't been very reliable with their reports about Maddie. I hope the evidence presented at the CB trial comes from a more reliable source than the jailbirds circle of friends.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
the prosecution have chosen to bring all 5 cases this trial is about under crimes of a sexual nature without consent.
also in germany they have a bit different definitions about crimes of a sexual nature. they changed that some time ago from very specific definitions we know usually for rape, to a wider definition of carrying out all kind of actions of a sexual nature, and without intent from the other party.
the strange thing is, they put a less high threshold in for the exact deeds, but they did not change the age of consent, that is still 14 years of age, one of the lowest in the eu. it does not really matter because consent is more important in the complete offence. and under the age of 14 years no one can even give consent, so the threshold of a crime is much earlier reached. and in under 14 years of age it is much earlier seen as rape under german law.
in the case of the unknown german speaking girl on the wooden post in the finca in praia da luz, both witnesses, who are the only testimony tapes of this supposed crime have once existed, gave a different estimate of the age, both did that in video coverings in the media. but the prosecution decided to set the age of this unknown victim at a minimum of 14 years.
so this means it will be up to the prosecution to present and show enough evidence this case indeed is a crime of a sexual nature without consent, and it would not be automatically seen as rape, because of the age of 14 years and older.
because the supposed crime is now under a german court, all have to obey to the german law.
it was already used in the 2005 rape case of the american lady, cb is in jail for at the moment, in portugal rape by the portuguese definition was not established in the medical examination, but what happend is classified as rape under the german laws.
technically it is already strange enough, because the german principles of not extradite their own nationals, but in stead bring them before the courts in germany, it also changes from portuguese law to be handled under german law.
most of the cases would most likely in portugal already reached their statute of limitations.
and the germans do not mind to ask extradition of their own nationals from other countries.
and the 2005 rape case and 4 of the 5 now in court did not end up in the german lawsystem by their own, after helge b. has given statements to operation grange in the uk, the case was brought to germany, with at first the possible suspicion of cb in the madeleine case. but helge b. also told about the video's he stole from the finca, when cb was in jail for diesel theft in portugal in 2006.
germany has simply asked portugal if case of the same m.o., had been know there.
hazel b. ended up in these 5 cases, because as said in the media her brother heard the story in the news about cb and the m. o. in the 2005 rape case, and he made contact with hazel b. and she got in contact with the police.
there are simply many points in all supposed crimes put to cb his name, that meet very thin lines in justice. for justice all countries in the eu are still mostly on their own, but it is pretty strange to see how these differences are used in this case.
there are multiple points that could be seen as what is called cop shopping, what stands for just asking around until you find someone who want and can take a case, because it is still a culpable crime in that law district.
the fact that cb is not seen as just an innocent human being, based on his long list of convictions and kinds of criminal offences, make it easier to overlook all this. only besides the law once written in the books of law, court cases also can give reach and meaning to bits of that law, and these can have results in a next case against a person that is truly innocent, that person will have to meet up with a much higher burden to stay innocent.
even when most would hardly care what will happen to cb, most just like to see the guy behind bars and at least out of society, because of his past, the other side of all this can be, that cb was not the culprit in 1 or more, or all of these 5 cases, and another nasty b.st.rd is walking still free. that is not a nice thought. and it could mean that the victims of crimes with a high impact are not done justice.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
day 3 of the cb proces.
translated with deeple from the braunschweifer zeitung;
The trial against Christian B. - the suspect in the Madeleine McCann case - at Braunschweig District Court enters day 3: Manfred S. testifies before the court this morning. The 68-year-old is one of the most important witnesses in the trial against Christian B.
He is one of the two men who claim to have seen the rape video films. Christian B. is said to have shot them of two offences in Portugal. In one film, the accused is said to have abused a pensioner who is still unknown today. It may have been an Italian woman who is said to have called for "help" in Italian in the film. The second video allegedly showed an unknown, half-naked girl tied to a beam. She is said to have been forced by B. to perform oral sex until she vomited. "You're throwing up all over the carpet", B. is said to have commented on this in the film.
The witness says that he and his accomplice broke into Christian B.'s house when he was in prison for diesel theft. He claims to have recognised Christian B. in the films by his voice, and in the second case he is also said to have been unmasked.
The witness further testified that he had only wanted to watch the recordings for a few minutes and had wanted nothing to do with them: "I didn't like it, it was pre-programmed trouble." He claims to have asked his accomplice to throw this "shit" away.
He had met Christian B. when he had travelled to Portugal in his camper van and the vehicle had broken down with an empty tank. His fellow traveller at the time had found Christian B., who had helped them out with diesel. In the days that followed, he stayed on B.'s property. "At some point, we no longer got on so well. His manner bothered me, he was arrogant, know-it-all. I didn't like him."
Manfred S. testified that he had financed his livelihood at the time by stealing solar cells, among other things. Christian B. had told him that he would break into hotels.

this news outlet updates usually multiple times, i did not translated the full article, this is the link to the german website;
https://www.braunschweiger-zeitung.de/braunschweig/article241787822/Dritter-Prozesstag-gegen-Christian-B-in-Braunschweig-folgt.html
going with they have manfres s. as the first witness, they must start with the two cases with the unknown supposed victims, on a unknown date and one even a unknown holiday accommodation.
the uk media had this week a story about the prosecution calling out that cb had used party drugs to make his victims easy game, well that never made it anywhere in the german news. so that must be a little strange to come from the prosecution in germany, also, because such uses of partydrugs or rape drugs, do not have to been part of the cases cb is in court for.
the same with cb working the night shift for the ocean club, this sounds very unlikely, because there was not really anything you could call night shift there, at least little to find in the files that could be named as night shift. late shifts yes. and working in the restaurant seems highly unlikely in the time around the mccanns been there, they already had quite a lot of waiters around, for the given clients they had to serve. and it was not already known from a german documentary at all, they had cb as working pools, but that got quite a direct reaction of silvia batista at the time, that they did not used outside services, but had their own people.
there have been from time to time unknown sources who called out that cb had worked for his own business as cleaning pool services in the area, others had him as handyman in when there was major maintenance like hanging shutters in the area of the ocean club. but nothing ever came from it at all.
and let us not forget the mr. ralph's can have a nice little earner when getting his stories out in the tabloids. they all have hardly substance at all, all i heard, so i know stuff. the police he told his first adventure, can not find anything about that happening.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
it becomes a rather peculair trial.
in episode 1 there is a magistrate that has taken the risk to get a criminal onvestigation and her own trial in future about some old tweets.
in episode 2 the bka of the region that kept cb in jail, or the jail itself has the risk of a criminal investigation and maybe results from that too.
in episode 3 the witness was noted for telling porkies in court, when manfred s. the witness was asked by the judge, or through the judge if he had contact to helge b, the answer was yes, about the when, the anwer was yesterday, the defense asked for how long that chat took, manfred could not say it, so the defense asked to have manfred s. his phone taken, to be checked, it became clear manfred had phoned with helge b, 4 times that same morning before trial.
so the judge had to tell manfred keeping in contact with helge b. was not criminal, but telling lies in court is. and also the judge asked what was wrong in the rest of his answers too.
this episode take 6 hours. manfred s. has as it looks a bit of a memory problem, in earlier statement to the police and in the trial of the 2005 rape case he spoke of a 40 years old victim in the video he saw, and also had said on tv that both rapes had taken place in the little finca cb rented for many years near praia da luz. and now it was not in the finca.
there also was a mismatch between cb masked, and cb recognized when he took it of, if i remember it the right way from one of the many documentaries, or recognized because seen clearly, or as per latest testimony recognized cb by his voice.
so maybe manfred s, is just very lucky escaping a trial about contempt of court or worse perjury.
i cannot get myself to type day 1, etc, because it start to look as a very cheap tv series, that usually never end their season even. it was already a very complicated case, but 3 people (of more for the listening in on the phone) who are not the defendant in the first 3 days of a trial called out as being probably criminal too is pretty rare.
the braunschweiger zeitung had a bit later update and bild had quite late an article out too, the link to the first is already in the post before this one, bild i am not liking to promote.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
Thank you for taking the time to continue looking into the extraordinary case lodged against CB with little or no supporting evidence.
I still don't understand how it was possible for the Manfred bloke to be accepted by a law court as a bona-fide witness. The whole case hinges on his word doesn't it? His word doesn't stack up from what I've read.
Is any of this connected to MBM, that's the implication but where is the evidence?

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
my idea the mm connection is mostly to get witnesses that have been accepted as credible witnesses twice in a german court case, even when it are separate cases and trials, even these 5 have their own, guilty or not guilty verdict to get.
not so much manfred s., indeed the kind of person you would not use, but there is not much choice, they look to have only helge b and manfred s. as far as known. both talked in the media they showed it to others, and there was also a little story, almost forgotten of a barman in portugal, cb supposedly stayed for some time at his couch, that was said also showed dirty little video's of a sexual nature by cb once upon a time. and it could be they found the guy, a musician also if i remember it okay, i forgot the name, but i looked him up, and a guy of his description was on face book. because the next court day is planned at march 14, 2024, and the media says helge b. will have his day in court in april.
for the madeleine case helge b. will be the important one, because he is the one who told grange about cb, all these cases, including mm, are the result of that storytelling, except the hazel b. rape case, her brother recognized the story in the media of the american lady, cb already is convicted for.
so getting helge b. as credible witness twice in a german court can assist later on in a case, if they ever get the act together in a case against cb about madeleine.
it is quite unheard of, to bring a case with a unknown supposed victim, of very uncertain ages, in a unknown date to court with two witnesses, that are themselves also criminals, and can not show any evidence, but only can tell what they have seen, when that lost evidence also is illegally gathered by theft, in a unsaved building.
also i am sure all my former prosecution officers would have remembered me after they first had been rolling on the floor of laughter, that because there was a time break between the taking of the camera and tapes and the later on showing to other parties could be noted as a breach in the line of custody. meaning witness manfred s. can not know if the video's been the same as the ones helge b. stole from the property, cb was no longer living. i think if i tried to get then work such cases, they would ask me to take sick leave.
it all has a kind of idea i would expect in a new comedy series made by the family of john cleese, but not in a serieus and very real court case.
for the end verdict over these 5 cases thetwo cases are important to being able to say cb has a habit of very nasty habits of a sexual nature, does not respect consent, and had done it multiple times to very different victims.
the prosecution wants to get cb under secure holding for many years, and maybe a load of prison years on the go.
going by his old convictions there are already 3 against very young female children, german cases, with german victims. they could have asked to keep him secure and out of society long ago.
even after he got a conviction in the 2005 rape case, they did not ask for it.
nice answer to these victims, only now they like to try to get it into the secure holding and keep cb out of society, what i think is a good thing, based on the first 3 convictions against children, that would have been a very sound idea. i know i have a lot of bias in saying that, for me once is enough in convictions against children.
in the german secure holding system, there is said to be a yearly evaluation, but it could be forever.
as far as to find commonly the convicted person has first to do time for his convictions, and directly after that the secure holding in german it is named as sicherungsverwahrung will take over.
it is not very easy to understand it, because when a case took place could have influence on what set of rules apply to it.
there is said in the media a psych will give his opinion at the end of these 5 cases.
at least it will give the prosecution all the time they want to risk a case against cb about madeleine.
manfred s. already had told his story formally before to the bka, and during trial in the 2005 rape case. so there already is a history, call it blue print, available.
the judge has all that available, and besides these manfred s. had a nice little earner in the media, so he told even in public this story many times, then already with little differences. with the media stuff he can not say they cut pieces out, or such habits the media have, or that there was an influence from others. still he did it on screen in his own words.
there is not really a way to forbid speaking out by a witness, portugal has regulations about it, but most other countries have not. you can only ask to not speak out in public before the trial has heard it very politely, and hope they don't.
helge b. dis speak out in the greek media directly after he told it to operation grange, this was already in 2017. it even was picked up by a uk expat website, both pieces are still online, only the tabloids never picked that up at all.
so all is already a very old story too.
this link goes to the uk expat website keep talking greek, at the botom of the article is a link in blue;

so it is already almost 7 years now for all the cases getting time in court, the 2005 rape case was handled in 2019 in a german court.
not so much manfred s., indeed the kind of person you would not use, but there is not much choice, they look to have only helge b and manfred s. as far as known. both talked in the media they showed it to others, and there was also a little story, almost forgotten of a barman in portugal, cb supposedly stayed for some time at his couch, that was said also showed dirty little video's of a sexual nature by cb once upon a time. and it could be they found the guy, a musician also if i remember it okay, i forgot the name, but i looked him up, and a guy of his description was on face book. because the next court day is planned at march 14, 2024, and the media says helge b. will have his day in court in april.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
well, at least 2 completely fake parts in it.
but it always nice that these kind of case are a good way to look if a title is worth to keep on reading,
this one is even worse than the usual uk tabloid.
but 50% who read the stuff will accept it as true.
from the link above;
Busching showed Seyferth a video from 2006 in which Bruckner was seen attacking a young woman. Following this discovery, the men passed the footage on to local police.
-----
naaah, that never happened sadly.
and;
Despite the finding, the camera's memory card was handed over to Brueckner's legal team, which is attempting to prevent the images from reaching court.
----
good one, but never happened too, and so very impractical because no police force is very known to give you back such memory cards, when you just walked in to tell you robbed a place of a fellow and stole this and that. that risk was most likely no longer out there when he start telling his stories to operation grange.
and he is good doing wonders too, he was able to call the special madeleine help line in 2008 at scotland yard , years before they had one.
a shame they did not copied the throwing in the wrong dam of the camera, or the long from hb his memory lost knowledge if he left the stuff in his scrapped camper van, or in a former house he lived and even has no longer the address off.
maybe we have to wait to the april episodes before we get that out. when the media is correct helge b. is not the next witness, but a bit later on.
i can understand helge b. has a need of some extra time, he is just the next who has to learn the early versions by heart. and the defense will again bring the video's of the other versions by his mouth.
best media source looks stil to be the braunschweiger zeitung, you have to look multiple times, because the update the articles about the trial multiple times, but pretty sound stuff. no mingling in juicy extra's that are not part of the trial, but at most writers fantasy in other news outlets.

From the Jerusalem Post.
A former friend of main suspect Christian Brueckner, Manfred Seyferth, recounted seeing a video in which Brueckner assaulted the three-year-old girl.
That disgusted me above all else. It's an insult to the child's memory and a downright lie.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
you are right, i am pretty bad in reading the titles and subtitles, but it is there.
not very friendly to spread such lies to the world, it does not help. and not very respectful to the victim too.
it is still not clear what happened to madeleine mccann, we only have our own opinions, but this goes way beyond opinion. and if there is anything that manfred s. could say about a case of madeleine, it was this same guy who told the court last friday he knew nothing about the madeleine mccann case.
manfred s. has an opinion about cb too, and expressed that, but mostly in words that are, that manfred thinks cb could have done it. without telling about the it. it is not a lost in translation, manfred does not say it any different in his native german.
also if there was footage of cb with madeleine in the same video, or in a way easy to show cb has a connection to the footage, there was no sound reason why cb was not already charged in that case at all.
it is not that this case needs any more confusion.
but news outlets that produce such rubbish, and think this time we recognize it, what with the rest they dare to bring out as news.
and even in this trial with the 5 cases, if they want to use the juicy stuff, they had enough material, the daily mail lost all decency by getting the details out. i do not see a need for that either, but at least it are the words said in this court case.
and the basic understanding of trial and court are already lost enough, both are about to prove if a person is guilty or not, and only on the case at hand, not other cases, earlier cases, only this case or in this trial those 5 cases. all 5 will have in first instance their own verdict on that, at the end it is expected that the prosecution wants to keep cb, if spoken guilty in one or more cases, in for life out of society.
in germany life means usually 15 years in jail as a max. longer is only possible with an arrangement of secure holding. what has an open end, because there will be a yearly evaluation if the person still is a danger to society.
if there really was such strong evidence of a connection of cb and madeleine, this case had brought charges, we only know about cb from june 2020, but germany has worked the madeleine case in relation to a possible perpetrator in cb from 2017 already. they know of manfred s, as a witness from that same year on.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
Germany seems to have a very strange way of conducting a criminal investigation and presenting a case before a law court, as I'm not familiar with the law still I don't understand how the cases against CB have reached a court with only evidence from an unreliable witness like Manfred Seyferth. His appearance on the documentary (Netflix or Discovery?) shows him to be unreliable, he even doubts his own memory on camera.
Tell me again, is a witness in a German court only there for a judge to pass judgment, any self respecting defence lawyer would have MS thrown out of the court. His basic story is almost consistent but the detail doesn't bear too much scrutiny. Can German law convict a suspect on the word of a known liar?
This is another fairy tale version of the CB story.
Psychopath's 'rape lair' exposed in gruesome details before court
People at courtroom were gripped with horror as Manfred Seyferth, former friend of Christian Brueckner, recounted witnessing his heinous acts in his "rape lair"
https://www.thenews.com.pk/latest/1163860-psychopaths-rape-lair-exposed-in-gruesome-details-before-court
The media should be held to account for the erroneous information they print, people believe what they read.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
I see the media is again churning out the annual £100,000 operation grange funding misleading information, it suggests the metropolitan police is still actively searching for MBM. They have made it clear MBM is a missing persons case until something happens to throw new light on the case, from that alone I think we can conclude the british police are not taking the CB story very seriously, a story of break in abduction and murder which must be true because Manfred Seyferth said so.
There seems to be some confusion in the media about the home office grant over past years, they should stick to celebrity gossip. In so far as the case of MBM affects the portuguese and british police, it will not go away until solved, I can't see that happening. If someone is looking to have CB found guilty they've already scuppered any chance, by widely publicizing their abysmal attempts to convince he is guilty they've only managed to weaken their case against him.
Whatever CB has done in the past can't be connected with MBMs disappearance without some evidence, which they don't have.
IMO.

i remember that guy, the one with the self replicating cd's and passports, so the numbers shrinken a bit for now.
no, idea what hearing, with what defense team, always nice if they at least give us a bit of a clue.
wasn't this not the guy who had a name change too.
well if he is a witness, we will hear what he has to say in court.
60 to 80 cd's is not exactly 3 big piles, must be a extra special kind.
and yeah, we heard it all before, only the numbers change.
this was the guy of the wodka spiked oranges to be delivered in jail.
no, idea what hearing, with what defense team, always nice if they at least give us a bit of a clue.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
One thing I hope will come out of the current trial, some truth rather than the media's make believe reports.
I haven't followed CB with much interest other than any possible involvement with Maddie, even that alone has led to some very conflicting stories. As with Maddie's case CB has accrued a long list of witnesses who have crawled out of the woodwork like worms two being Christian Post and CBs girlfriends father Dieter Fehlinger, both seem convinced CB had the potential to be a child snatcher and abuser and murderer. An opinion based on nothing but character assassination, is that enough for a law court to find guilty?
C. Post thinks CB to be evil, to be locked up for life, although he had no reason to think him a pedophile until he heard about CBs past? D. Fehlinger had a story to tell about meeting CB when visiting his daughter, this is from a newspaper report back in June 2020 around the time the news about CB first broke.
A former ambulance driver called Dieter, whose daughter knew Brueckner, said he was given a tour of the vehicle. He added: 'As I looked inside, I asked him: 'Herr Brueckner, what do you do in Portugal? What is your job?' He told me: 'I work, I get money, because I have a special business. I transport grass [cannabis] in my van.'
Dieter revealed to the Mail on Sunday: 'Brueckner told me again, 'I have 50kg of grass, and I transport it around Europe'. I thought he was joking at the time. He said, 'In my van, I can take 50kg of grass – nobody can see it ... I can transport children, kids, in this space. Drugs and children, you can transport them in this van – it's a safe space in the van. Nobody can find them. Nobody can catch you'.
Is that the sort of thing a man would tell the father of his girlfriend? Did CB drive 50 kilo of cannabis around europe on a sightseeing tour, who and where was his suppliers and customers?
The media stories come from all angles, they are woven together to form a picture, they appear disappear and then reappear in another form. Where the video camera was found and where it was lost, where CB lived, where he traveled, who witnessed what and where, who cleared out CBs accommodation when and why, where was the accommodation? Christian Post was the witness to say he saw stacks of passports at CBs home, is that the kind of thing you would leave lying about on the mantel piece, why not hide it in the mobile home along with stolen children and cannabis?
One witness claims CB could climb walls like batman when robbing homes, he thinks CB entered the McCann's apartment to steal but instead left with a child, from hence we get the "she didn't scream" exclusive? Even one of the retired british police officers unofficially working on the job thought it a possibility. Did CB scale the wall of a ground floor apartment to steal a child through a very small window with shutters and curtains or was he told by his informant that he could enter through an open door from the apartments veranda? The informant being someone who worked at the ocean club, CB on and off, who according to the German chief of police had contact by mobile phone for half an hour prior to Maddies disappearance, does it take half an hour to say the occupants of a holiday apartment are across the way for a while? The coast is clear? Did they chat about this and that at the same time?
I think that is about the extent of any evidence the germans have to link CB with Maddie. All a bit flimsy.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
the informant from the tapas bar gets a bit complicated, it must have been someone that forgotto look at the booked time for arrival of the tapas 9 in the big book that was too big for the pj files. and it must have been someone with extreme long arms too, a lot did miss out about the caller of that 'maybe not so next to 5a' call to a number that could maybe, or maybe not be the one of cb, was calling from a different area. if both parties had been in the ocean club, they both would at least been in reach of the same tower, and there was only just one back in 2007.
and the call ended a few minutes after 20.00 hours, so the mccanns had still been turning of the shower taps, or just able to nip a bit of the new zealand whine.
so it can not be a very good effort in tipping off anything useful.
as far was to find, and it still looks a bit like a quiz, you have to work yourself to at least 10 sources to get a maybe that could happen, christian post will be in court coming thursday, but not in person, but by prepared video statement. so that must be i guess the answer to the riddle of the olive press, when the defense asked christian p. questions. it is expected to be 3 to 4 hours of video.
no, it does not matter what others believe or think you are capable off, but what you are capable off and also did. the crime must be done, not just a mindf.ck of a former unknown relation to cb.
in the media all are told to be friends, but it gives a little different version when all open up their own words. so friends in the media is more meant like having facebook friends, not the usually meaning we understand when we call others our friends.
but no worries, the defense have video too. helge b. isexpected somewhere in april too, and on the 10th of april we at least get a fresh witness, his first girlfriend silke becker, the one he was with on his first escape to another country after his conviction for putting his trowsers done in front of two very young german victims. they lived if the media is correct in the little finca for some years.
and it os expected she will tell the court she never seen a video camera in the little finca in the time she was there.
but there will be a parade of ex-girlfriends to be expected. besides silke, there are names like marina, nicole, and many more, half of the we already heard in the media. there are at least to others with the letter n. but some used spoof names to not be to easily recognized.
and the words of dieter fehlinger above, sound very different from his very own words spoken by his own mouth. there was nothing about i did smuggle children, only a gap that could fit a load of 50 kilo's of grass, or even could fit a child. and 50 kilo's of grass asks for a very, very big hole.
and it is common knowledge in the netherlands that germans use a child as a standard for space, like they do on the beach, they are very fond of digging large holes, a good one fits at least a child.
so a hole that could fit a child, can be a misunderstanding of the uk media, because they lack the usual meaning of the volume of a child in the german language.
and no, i am not looking again for the video that proves this.
it sounded as the leader of the judges was not very content with the first witness. so that gives a bit of hope for the rest.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
no longer the friday, but this time at a thursday and a bit late start at 11.00 hours german time, the next episode of the cb trials is taking place in braunschweig, germany.
going by the local news outlet there is indeed a witness interview on video, it is taken weeks before, because this witness, we know him from the media as christian post, lives in cambodia, but on a visit to germany he also had been interviewed for this process on video.
i just put a bit from the braunschweiger zeitung through deepl about what this witness had to say. the article is usually updated multiple times, this is from 13.04 hours today.
In the early 2000s, the now 56-year-old worked as a musician in the Portuguese Algarve. After a gig, Christian B. introduced himself to him. "In this small-town environment, you quickly got to know the Germans," says the witness. A "purposeful acquaintance" developed between them, as he describes it: The witness had offered his electrical and computer skills to B., who in turn had repaired his car. B. had made no secret of the fact that he earned his living as a burglar with "night-time shopping trips", for example by climbing up rain pipes.
In Christian B.'s house - an untidy "bachelor pad", according to the witness's impression - he claims to have seen piles of stolen passports lying on a mantelpiece during a visit. Looking back, the witness says of B.: "That bird wasn't quite kosher for me. I normally stay away from people like that - knowing full well that they bring problems with them." He did consider reporting B. to the police, "but then I thought selfishly because it was more important to me that someone repaired my car".
B. was caught by the police in April 2006 together with the Austrian Michael T. while siphoning diesel from a lorry. Both ended up in custody. They were released in December 2006. T. had spoken about B. in an interview with the English newspaper "Sun" in 2020, saying that he was "a good burglar" and could easily climb up to the upper floors of houses. "He stole everything he could get his hands on - valuables, passports, watches," Michael T. is quoted as saying. He is considered an important witness, also in the Maddie case. He is to be heard as a witness at a later date in the ongoing rape trial against Christian B.
Back to the video interrogation: After the arrest for the diesel theft, the witness was asked by B. to look after the dogs in the house and to take out several pre-packed bags and take them to another acquaintance. The contents included burnt CDs with hardcore pornography - including sex between humans and animals. He wants these CDs thrown away: "I didn't want anyone to see this."
---------
this morning was written that part of this court day would be spend to handle some points , more technical legal matter from the defense too.
it is very strange to see the ever again made connection to the madeleine case and it is often not very clear if that comes from the witnesses too, or are just extra words from the reporters.

Meanwhile the insatiable british media are determined to condemn CB and associates for the disappearance of Maddie.

POLICE are urgently searching for a potential new witness in the Madeleine McCann case - a close pal and alleged "partner in crime" of Christian Brueckner.
They need to ask Ralph H "about his connection" to the case of the missing British girl, who vanished in Portugal in 2007.
Armed cops surrounded his heavily-fortified property just outside Braunschweig, in Germany, this week.
Up to ten police armed with machine guns spent an hour outside the home, next door to where Brueckner, 47, once rented.
Ralph, a long-time pal of the sex offender, has vanished with police now urgently hunting for him.
The 56-year-old allegedly worked closely with Brueckner and served as an accomplice in crime.

Ralph H? Ring any bells?
This EXCLUSIVE is gradually filtering through, every report so far cites The Sun as the source, well if The Sun says so it must be true?

From the above court proceedings, thank you Counttoten, it seems everyone has seen or handled various sordid videos except those who matter, the police.

Re: The "number 1 suspect" Christian B
yes, the person does ring an old bell, it is no news, this was a friend who met up with cb in his kiosk time, and ralph only mingled in to get cb in to get an allotment on the association that have parcels there. 2021 that was in the news.
there is nothing to find about a raid there, not even on the local news. and a full arrest team for just handing in a court order, if there even was such a thing sounds overrated, they even write they had not even a warrant to enter and search the premises, so they just only looked a bit around.
it is not very usual to send arrest teams in to get a witness to testify for the prosecution. it is also a association that is more in a recreational use of the properties there. often people do live their for longer periods too.
and it is not strange today to have some camera's around and some sensors for movement, it is modern times, so easy to get a look around who gets access to do nasty thing, most work nowadays even on your phone.
it was not anywhere in the german news to find in the laat month at that place.
cb is known to have used multiple of such like wise allotments, to stall a vehicle or live for a time.
there are still some old writings from german media, most out the time of all the digging and searches on some of these allotments, remember the cellars diggin by cb, with the glass on top to show wild adventures of it.
the can hardly have found much of substance, it never resulted in a charge in any of the cases talked to his name.
they had that mother left him also again last week. well they did forget to tell that is was not the best example of the nice, good or even responsible parents, but at least that aspect is common in the case of madeleine.
cb lived between 1995 and 2017 on and off mostly in portugal and germany traveling up and down for his adventures. and after april 2006 he lost a stabil address, because he lost the access to the little finca near praia da luz. after that he was everywhere and nowhere, this was just one place in that sequel.
i even think this is the allotment where the now owner or user wanted the police to do a nice dig and search on, at least the woman had a sob story in the red tops at a time.
the sun had it first this time, and look at the name of the reporting jockey, well that one has a bit of a reputation for putting these half truth sob stories out. it always is a kind of quiz what is true this time.
but maybe one of the 4 uk media outlets that joined in in todays public in the court case against cb have showed the story to the german divisions, and they will tell hopefully more. it would not be the last we pay for your story productions.
