Madeleine McCann: British police to observe questioning in Portugal - BBC 9/12/14

Madeleine McCann: British police to observe questioning in Portugal
Three-year-old Madeleine went missing from the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz in May 2007
British police investigating Madeleine McCann's disappearance in 2007 have arrived in Portugal to observe the questioning of 11 people.
It is the biggest number called in for questioning since the Met's Operation Grange began in 2011.
Among those being interviewed - although not as suspects - are Robert Murat and his wife.
Three-year-old Madeleine went missing from the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz in May 2007.
Robert Murat and his wife Michaela Walczuch are being interviewed as witnesses
Mr Murat was one of the original suspects interviewed by police but has since won substantial damages from British newspapers over their coverage of the case.
Police are expected to question two other British people and seven Portuguese citizens.
BBC correspondent Christian Fraser said they would be looking for "inconsistencies" with any answers given seven years ago.
Some of the interviewees are former employees of the Ocean Club where the McCanns were staying at the time, he added.
Police from the UK have supplied more than 250 questions for Portuguese police to ask.
Earlier this year detectives from London flew to the Algarve to assist with searching scrubland near the resort where Madeleine disappeared.

Not as suspects. Goodness, this is wonderful. As formal suspects they would have the right to silence but as witnesses they will have to answer all of the questions.
I hope that Tapas 9 will be quizzed as witnesses too.

BBC are saying one woman to be questioned in UK who has connections to a person based in Lagos. M Green lives in Lagos and is FB friends with C Harrison whose daughter has the surname Callan, Maybe Ms Harrison has nipped home thinking to keep her head down.

Snipped from the BBC's updated version....
After years of rumours and suspicion, some residents in Praia da Luz, the resort where Madeleine went missing, feel the focus on the case has gone on for too long.
A few "Stop" road signs in the area now have graffiti that reads: "Stop McCann Circus".
They even have a picture of the 'Stop McCann Circus'

Is the Stop McCann Circus thing with the road signs not old news that has been about since at least the summer?

I think so hesla, although it is unusual for the Beeb to mention such things and have a picture as well

Hi hesla - CF beat me to it but that was what I was implying for the BBC to mention it.
Before, I believe it was only the Portuguese paper that printed that 'signpost' picture when SY first went over there.
The BBC would never of shown that picture before. Further proof that the TM dam is bursting. IMO.

Its all making me think of Narnia - when the little signs of a thaw kept appearing - just little signs here and there that the white witch is on her way out.... and Aslan will return

I think it was when NSY went over in the summer to start digging, and Nana stood out front with her banner.candyfloss wrote:hesla wrote:Is the Stop McCann Circus thing with the road signs not old news that has been about since at least the summer?

Video from Faro showing one of the witness arriving. I think this is Joaquim Marques the pig farmer.
Can anyone translate what is being said?

Didn't see that bit as didn't watch it all.
I thought he looked a bit shifty though I must admit.
Hope he didn't feed his pigs something he shouldn't of done for extra cash.

Found this from 2008 about this pig farmer.
Could Gail Cooper be the British woman who is to be questioned?

He is one very angry person, the clip certainly does him no favours.
Is he connected to the disused barn?

Re: Madeleine McCann: British police to observe questioning in Portugal - BBC 9/12/14
I have a question - not breaking news but I don't know where to ask.
Is it just me or does anyone else think it very strange that there are no reports or pictures of TM during all these new developments?
Not that I am in favour of people being door-stepped - RIP Brenda - but is there a "No Fly Zone" or something set up in Rotherham ?
Yes, I do understand this is all going on in Portugal, but it does involve people residing in the UK.
This has often made me wonder, do TM have special powers to keep reporters etc. at a great distance - are they not to be photographed, harrassed in any way? Who decides? I am not in favour of their remaining children being dragged into this of course, but even the T9 are never heard of.
I just thought I would ask.

Now I understand why he's angry and hit out, ok, maybe not the hitting out part, but pulled in for the third time. Although he's a witness atm isn't he?
