Crass as it may seem at least it would be one abduction theory put to bed.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
There is no evidence at all that Ben was abducted.
An accident after he wandered off is the most likely scenario.

Those that doubt the McCanns can't even agree on what the likeliest scenario is.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
Why these nearby sites have never been properly searched before is beyond me...
Will await with developments on this story.
I don't think the Police would of leaked this story to the press on the back of Dino's mate piping up... So I would say it's more than speculation and they probably have other intelligence for it...
They probably read Satsumas posts here.

The only article I've seen this morning about the Needham case that has Madeleine McCann mentioned alongside photographs.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
Interesting....we have often discussed on here what it would take to convince your mates to cover up an accident with you ....to protect your name....not much it would seem! So rather than report said child dead by accidental means they trap the parents in agony of not knowing and keep it secret till their mate dies?? Should they not be done for this?

Interesting,ring any bells.

If Ben's body is found then the report about the digger drive might be true.
Unless Madeleine's body is found, no similar story about tractor drivers will stand scrutiny.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
From watching Kerry briefly speak this morn then it looks like she's accepted that this is what's happened and anticipating that Ben's remains will be found. Maybe she knows a bit more.
I suspect that they will announce that he's been found within the next couple of weeks.
A very sad end but at least they can have some closure on it.

Okay! Whatever happens.... what is the morality of drivers mates keeping quiet about what happened to Ben......should they be punished for their silence over what was an aleady horrific accident?

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
Absolutely, IMO. Dino's pal needs to be arrested for perverting the course of justice (if all this is true).
But he won't though.
He'll probably make a few quid in interviews saying how Dino threatened him and his family if he ever confessed what he knew.
Probably write a book about it as well.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
Does anyone think this could be more than just an accident? I mean, like a small child toddling about on a construction site, very dangerous and an accident would be likely. Tragic but why not speak up??

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
I'd be much more likely to think that Ben died as a result of the motorcycle accident and his body was hidden in the excavation site by Stephen. that seems a more likely scenario.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
The problem for all concerned (you might even call it the elephant in the room) regarding the latest theory is this:
IF he wandered off and was crushed by a vehicle on the construction site, how on earth was he able to go missing without his absence being noticed? Surely, being so young, he would have been under supervision
I leave the rest of you to fill in the gaps here. We have a good idea where everybody else was (or is alleged to have been)
Of course, something similar may just have happened to you-know-who ......... and maybe that's where this is all leading

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
As has been mentioned before, the account of how he came to be missing raises questions of its own.
One minute Ben was playing and then suddenly it was noticed he'd gone quiet - always a danger sign! - and he couldn't be found.
I would like to know how long it really was between those two events.
An accident on a building site is hard to believe. Why cover up something that was just a terrible accident and not your fault?

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
I suppose to avoid being known for the rest of your life as the guy who (accidentally) killed a little kid
but it doesn't mean that's what really happened
as you say, Freedom, the time lapse between disappearance and the alarm being raised is very important
also the whereabouts of everyone during that period
but even if something did happen on the building site down the road, isn't it likely that the body would have been moved elsewhere rather than lying there under some rubble waiting to be discovered?

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
That simple comment is probably what most people thought - and still think - happened; he ran off.
You need eyes in the back of your head where children are involved.
We have yet to solve the mystery though of why he was not found at the time.
