How awful is that, poor Kerry. It sounds like the police know more and have maybe told her more.....
Still don't understand why on earth anyone would cover an accident up?

Still have to have the body before any of this becomes possible. Without that, its just one person's say-so.

I was privy recently to some rather grisly details of an accident involving a heavy vehicle. It sounds to me like they must have convincingly described the state of the body to the police. Given that, it's possible that they decided at the time it would be better for the family not to know the details rather than having to confront what actually happened.

So what makes this so different from Maddie McC? Got out, ran off, had an accident, body hidden by persons unknown
Why not????
Why not????

Lauding by politicians, law enforcement and media. Involvement of Clarence Mitchell. Odd behaviour of parents and wider family. Inconsistent versions of events. Fundraising. Systematic attacks on local investigation.
Edited: Apologies, I appreciate that isn't that you were driving at. Actually it's eminently possible, but if that is indeed what happened then it must have been some properly cold ***tards that elevated the whole thing into what it has since become.

Here is the Sunday Mirror interview with the widow of the digger driver who is currently being stitched up like a kipper.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
I can't see why this Dino chap or 'Mr Big' as otherwise known by the looks of it, would keep shtum about an accident....
Even If he was under the influence of alcohol when operating the machinery and a tragic accident appeared, then with the lackadaisical laws over there at the time and if he really is 'Mr Big' and well connected then nothing would of come it anyway... A tragic accident with the blame being put towards Needhams for causing neglect thus allowing it to happen.
Maybe the bloke who worked alongside him did it.. Couldn't live with the guilt anymore and blamed his dead mate/boss for it....
Just a thought as thinking it through again it's not adding up.
Although sadly I believe that Ben's remains will be found.

The son of digger-driver Ben Needham suspect Dino Barkas once took a DNA test to prove he was not the missing tot.
Valandis, 29, revealed: “At one stage authorities thought I might have been Ben myself.”
Ben Needham’s mum had “no idea” the son of the man suspected of killing the tot had DNA tests to prove he was not her missing boy.

Very bizarre if true - Dino's son is two or three years older than Ben, how it could have been thought that he might be him I don't know.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/ben-needham-police-say-this-8871453
Part snipped:
Ben Needham police say: 'This is where we will dig for missing tot's remains'
The plot is a small patch of scrubland immediately behind where Ben disappeared in 1991, but the land owner says he doesn't think they will find the missing toddler there
Standing in front of one of the dusty, barren spots where detectives believe they may find the remains of little Ben Needham , Stefano Troumouhis tells the Mirror he doesn't think they will find the missing tot.
Stefano, 33, who owns the land, said police have contacted him and asked for permission to dig it.
The land is a small part of a 2 ½ acre plot immediately behind the house where Ben went missing.
It’s a small piece of scrubland with just a few very old olive trees.
But police think it could hold the secrets of the 25-year Ben Needham mystery. They will dig at this particular spot and one other undisclosed location nearby some time in the coming weeks.
Stefano told the Mirror: “I was called recently and asked if the police would be able to return to look at the land.
“They asked for permission to dig. Obviously I have agreed.
“But I don’t think they will find Ben.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
I've got a weird feeling about this case. Why are SY/Met giving a running commentary in this case but have been firm in their promise of not doing such in the McCann case?
Also why has this guy told the press that they will be digging up his land? Surely they would have asked him to keep quiet about such a sensitive thing never mind tipping off anyone before they get there.
Unless this all a ruse of some kind....

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
I know what you mean, TTWO. Having similar thoughts myself now.
It feels like it's turning into some crappy soap opera with every Tom and Dick wanting a speaking part.
If they (Police) have the intelligence then get on with it.... Quickly and quietly.
"Mrs Needham - We believe Ben is dead and he is buried in spot X.... However we're just going to wait a few weeks before we start digging"....
I mean what's all that about.....

Put some info out there and see what the reaction is from person(s) who may be under surveillance without them knowing they are being watched...?

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
I don't think they'll get much of a reaction from this Dino chap.
Yes, I see what you mean but surely the priority would be to find Ben's body rather than eyeing up who looks dodgy etc.....

Possible I guess. Just seems a bit obvious to me. (I probably have followed one too many cases though)

Wasn't thinking about Dino. I was thinking more along the lines of others who might know more about Ben's disappearance than they've always said.

Snipped from the Mirror article:
Over the years there has been a lot of mud thrown at Kerry. Just as it has been thrown at the McCann family too.
Perhaps it suits people wrong-footed by the horror of a lost child case to paint
the victims as people a bit ‘suspect’ or ‘different’, so unlike themselves they can believe such a thing would never happen to them.
And over the years Ben’s case has often failed to gain as much attention as missing Madeleine – maybe because his family weren’t so cleanly middle class or media savvy.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
Somewhat ironic that the Mirror points out that less publicity has been given to the Needhams over the years - suggesting that the class difference might be part of the reason - when it is the media itself which has made the coverage of the McCann case so unique and the real reason for it has still yet to be established; there's certainly more to it than class difference.

If they (the police) have specific areas to uncover why aren't they using cadaver dogs?

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
I read earlier before I went into a meeting that the digs start on Monday. But can't find said article now. I'm sure it was the Mirror.
Could cause a headache elsewhere at this stage if brought in Cadaver dogs and of course they were correct.
