Sorry for shorthand, pain. Watched 2 doc's, 1 showed view of farmhouse ruin from balcony in house opposite. Shots show her chair, was shocked, she'd perfect view. Said saw uncle ride off, Ben playing. No more info like when she went in, did she hear them searching, she had too unless deaf. Have nt book. Did any of family run over to her and ask, think her husband also there.
Where the villa people checked, maybe searched by police as part of procedure to eliminate them? I am sure they had no part in it but you'd expect to be checked.

@mumtoriki they've found marks they think made by digger 25 yrs ago when Dino was clearing the land, so can search those areas

Apparently they crashed a toy plane into it, and shortly afterwards it just turned to dust....

In that case, they'll find Dino's passport and bandanna to confirm his guilt.......

Is anybody here sufficiently cynical to have considered that South Yorks have cooked this whole thing up merely to give credence to "wandered and met with an accident" outcomes in other missing child cases? Swarthy foreigner involvement a given, naturally.

Obviously none of the above has crossed my mind.

Yes (sadly to say) me, unreorganised.

You just don't walk off and have an accident round the back of the house and never to be seen again for 25 years unless someone/others tried to make sure you'd never be seen again...

It's the timing in all this, that has me questioning 'what is going on and why now?'

They seem to be making a bigger fist of searching then that landscaping effort in Portugal.

I admit, and my posts in this thread show, I'm extremely cynical of how this is unfolding and if they do find Ben (they sound and look more and more confident as the days go on to me) and announce they believe Dino accidentally ran him over and he buried him, how will/can they prove it? And surely if this witness was there is it not a crime in of itself to not report a death? For all we know he could be the guilty party and now Dino is dead he's putting it on him.

I keep wondering if this whole Dino angle is a ruse by SYP to get to the (real) truth but I can't see a dead man being used in such a way. Have SYP directly named Dino in the case and would that matter?

I have to admit my fanciful mind is thinking this scenario:

1. Ben dies accidentally and someone in his family is responsible, either directly or indirectly
2. The guilty party knows someone who may be able to help them cover it up - ie, the digger driver
3. The digger driver helps them cover up Ben's death by burying him
4. The secret stays intact until the digger's death bed confession
5. The death bed confession is taken to the police, however the statement that is released is NOT the statement made by the digger on his deathbed. The real statement is the truth. The fake statement is a ruse.
6. The police find the body, and lay charges against the family member, based on the original deathbed confession.
