Yes, whatever happened happened that night.
Medics are a very close group, well practiced in covering their own backs, so may well have been willing to be economical with the truth, without knowing exactly what the truth was. Neglect could be leveled at them all, so try to minimise the neglect aspect

.... I also think that if Goncalo's book/thesis was way off the mark and what he said didn't happen at all (but something else did and prior), then the McCann's would not have spent millions trying to silence/ban it...

They just would've let him run with it knowing themselves that there's no proof/evidence of that scenario so it could be easily dismissed regardless. (and still have a few Mill in the bank)

the Jodie marsh article ban is quite odd. She was commissioned to write it with the publisher knowing it is a controversial subject. therefore her article would have been carefully read for libel by the in house legal team. So why cancel the commission?

She does not say she wrote it, submitted it and then they told her it wasn't going in. Sometimes 'celebrities' who are semi literate write columns but they are heavily edited to make them read OK.

Maybe Jodie isn't the most literate, but the tweeting support she received told the publisher an article by her (even if they had to rewrite for literacy and libel) would sell more copies. So the only reason for pulling has to be threats by the Mccanns.....

I read the first bit of this. Nowhere could I see why a review was carried out, or who commissioned it. Presumably Wiiliams-Thomas did this off his own bat and it was not requested by either UK or Portuguese police authorities .

I agree; he did if off his own bat as something to list on his CV.  I doubt if he had it peer reviewed!

he plays down the dogs and says the portuguese put too much emphasis on them - says they (the dogs) cant be challenged critically as human witnesses can be...

Now he clearly does know the timeline of the evening madeleine officially vanished so how he said on ITV that he believes she woke up in the midnight hours and went off looking for her parents is beyond me.

the Mccanns arrived at the Tapas bar at 8.30 so the children were asleep then. gerry checks all three at 9.05 so all the children were asleep then. Now if she woke up it has to be between say 9.10 and 9.55pm. In waking up and leaving the apt she might well have woken up the twins by for example tripping in the darkness.  She could also have been upset, woken with a bad dream and crying. So if she left the apartment shortly after Gerry left would she not have found her dad outside chatting to Jeremy Wilkins or bumped into Jane tanner doing her own checks? - or  if she left a little later would she not have bumped into matt Oldfield either coming or going? Finally if she left shortly before 10pm would she not have met her mum coming to check her at 10pm?

Does MWT find it credible that in the tiny window of opportunity after matt returned to the tapas bar and while Kate was still there, that Madeleine got herself safely down the steps from the apartment to the road below and there just happened to meet a dodgy character who whisked her away without her crying or screaming and nobody saw or heard anything?

Agree with you Antonia! He's proved in this 'review' that he knows the TL of the night & there is no way imo, Madeleine could have woke & wandered in that time.
I asked him on Twitter last night, if he had changed his mind about the dogs in the 7-8 years since he wrote his review but of course, got no reply!
