Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
Just caught the back end of the Day 11 live update from DI Cousins.
The team are moving to the second site today and expect to be there for 4 to 5 days. They didn't know about this second site until June this year when they got the tip off (Dino's mate).
I gather but not sure, that this second site is not in close proximity at all to the farmhouse.

Police in Kos due to start searching a 'significant second site' close to the farmhouse where #BenNeedham disappeared @GMB 0800
Is close to the farmhouse then. Got the impression it wasn't.

Ben Needham police search mystery new site 'where digger driver suspected of crushing toddler to death dumped rubble'
The location was only brought to the attention of police in June and is less than a mile from the farmhouse from where Ben went missing in 1991
Police hunting for missing Ben Needham will search a mystery new site this morning where the digger driver suspected of crushing the toddler to death may have dumped rubble.
This site was only brought to their attention in June and has never been searched before.
Detective Inspector Jon Cousins said: "The site is being prepared for a full search which will start soon and take a few days.
"This location was only brought to my attention in June."
He declined to say what has led them to the new site.
But there is speculation it may have been an area where digger driver Konstantinos "Dino" Barkas used to dump rubble.
It is less than a mile from the farmhouse from where Ben went missing in 1991.

I might be thicker than the large print edition of Ulysses, but why not search there first?

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
Yeah a very good question. They seem to pinning everything on this 'credible intelligence' from Dino's chum. So did Dino's chum say that there might be 2 places where Ben was buried. The first by the house and the second about a mile away...
I'd like to think they know exactly what they're doing but at times you have to question it a bit.

Everyday a different dig in yet another location. The daily running commentary and the live footage of the digging (has this ever happened before?). It's almost as if they're watching how some person(s) will react.

Well they're either playing out an extremely clever game here or literally haven't got a scooby doo.
I'm hoping it's the former but often think the latter.

This imagery is very reminiscent of something else.

Didn't the friend come forward in May? So this is another person's intelligence? Less than a mile away is also roughly the distance I deduced (which could be wrong) where something else was located...
The secrecy about this all of a sudden is odd as they have been completely open up to this point talking about Dino, the digger and the friend with the media.

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
Watching that Calender news this morning, seems to me the police needed EN there to answer questions, but I thought he wanted to go there to see for himself what they were doing?!?
I also heard EN say in the interview with Duncan that in England you'd watch your child all the time but there they felt safe (not exact words) hmm?!?

So I think this is the location on street view I think?
This is the place where I said 'something else' was located in my last post. Given what I think was in this location I'm to believe this was a rumble dump for Dino? Come on!

Would a cadaver dog not be useful at this stage?

I can't remember word for word what was said - but one of ITV reporters when he was doing his facebook update thingy and was doing a bit of Q and A session answered that....
He said he was told that the Cadaver dogs were brought over in 2012 but they (Police) feel that they have sufficient evidence now not to deploy them again... Something like that anyway
Didn't make sense to me either.
Surely it could of saved quite a bit of time and got a lot of hands less dirty if this credible evidence is as credible as they keep harping on about.
You have to wonder whether Dino's chum is sending them on a bit of a wild goose chase.

Well not to beat around the bush but first you would have to believe this is really a friend of Dino....

Re: The Mystery of Ben Needham
If police are confident that they will find Ben on one of those two sites, then could it be because of the price needed to hire the cadaver dogs?

I don't think the cost would have anything to do with it. I really don't know apart from my thoughts a while back of which relates to the McCann case.
Yes, TTWO. I suppose it might not be a friend of Dino's at all tipping them off. But who though?
As an aside are the Grandparents still together? Eddie and I forgot her name?

TheTruthWillOut wrote:OK maybe I'm crazy but again this "friend" comes across as BS to me. From the MSM article, Freedom:The friend, who prompted the police search, said he thought it was a dangerous place for Ben to play as it was so near the massive Caterpillar machine. But despite his fears he failed to alert Ben’s family, who were renovating a property nearby.
Yet in the documentary (Somebody Knows) Christine shows she went down the lane as far as the building site looking for Ben and doesn't mention talking to or seeing these men or searching the site. In fact, I wonder if work for that day had even stopped given the heat and time ~14:30?
Also does anyone know if Danny has ever said anything about that day? I haven't read much of anything he did/saw that day.
On another subject I've tried to do a map and walk times of the three main places people were. The farmhouse, Eddie & Christine's caravan (a guess based on a couple bits of info) and Kerry's work place:
TTWO - on this map can you highlight where the caravan was and where this second search is taking place..?

I saw a blog the other day where a journo had become friends with the couple and had done periodic pieces about Eddie and Christine. In one of them C had left Eddie because of his bouts of drinking and it wasn't the first time. She always went back and did so then too. I think a reference to 2008 was made. Whether they are still together, I don't know.
Whether Eddie's drink problem was from before Ben's disappearance or triggered by guilt for the situation is not clear but C mentioned how guilty she feels as he was in her care.
Whatever happened, a lot of lives were damaged.
